Taylor Momsen, frontwoman of The Pretty Reckless, shared her excitement from AC/DC’s electrifying Las Vegas concert at Allegiant Stadium this Saturday. The singer posted a series of photos on Instagram capturing memorable moments from the show, expressing her enthusiasm with the caption “Viva Las Vegas!” accompanied by lightning bolt emojis – a fitting nod to the iconic rock band’s powerful performance.
This Las Vegas performance marks another stop on what has been an exciting journey for Momsen, whose band has been supporting AC/DC throughout their current tour. The collaboration between the rock veterans and The Pretty Reckless has been thrilling fans across North America.
Just days before the Vegas show, Momsen performed with AC/DC in Vancouver, sharing her enthusiasm about that experience as well. In a previous Instagram post, she wrote about the Vancouver crowd being “AWESOME” and shared footage from the BC Place Stadium performance. She noted how immersed she was in the show that she “forgot to let Jamie take a picture,” highlighting her genuine passion for the performances.
From Child Star To Rock Frontwoman
For those unfamiliar with Momsen’s journey, her career represents one of the most interesting transformations in entertainment. Born on July 26, 1993, Taylor Michel Momsen first gained fame as a child actress, most notably playing Cindy Lou Who in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” (2000) and later as Jenny Humphrey in the popular teen drama series “Gossip Girl” from 2007 to 2012.
However, Momsen’s true passion emerged through music. She founded the rock band The Pretty Reckless in 2009, serving as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. The band has released four studio albums, with their most recent being “Death by Rock and Roll” (2021), which topped the Billboard rock charts.
AC/DC And The Pretty Reckless Collaboration
The collaboration between AC/DC and The Pretty Reckless began taking shape in late 2023 when Momsen announced on social media that her band would be joining AC/DC for their European and UK summer Power Up tour. In December 2023, she shared the news about the American leg of the tour, expressing excitement with lightning bolt emojis and the hashtags #acdc and #theprettyreckless.
This partnership represents a significant milestone for Momsen, allowing her to share stages with one of rock’s most enduring and influential bands. AC/DC, formed in 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, has sold more than 200 million records worldwide and is considered among the greatest rock bands of all time.
Behind The Scenes Of The Tour
Momsen has been actively documenting the tour journey on her social media. Before the Vancouver show, she posted backstage photos taken by photographer “@theartistsg” expressing how great it was to be back in the “beautiful city.” She’s also shared glimpses of the massive stadium venues they’ve been performing in, including Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, where she remarked that it “lived up to the hype.”
As Momsen continues this rock journey alongside AC/DC, her transformation from television star to respected rock musician appears complete. The Vegas show adds another memorable chapter to what has clearly been an exhilarating experience for both the performers and their fans.
