UNWOUND has rolled out Round 5 of its Core 25 vinyl reissues this week, unveiling the last six titles in the campaign. The post-hardcore trio shared the announcement on Instagram, confirming that four more titles will arrive next week on a 2×7″ Pre-Order Bonus EP.

The caption read: “Round 5 drop… The last 6 of the core 25. 4 left next week on the 2×7″ Pre-Order Bonus EP.” Those images represent six of the career-defining tracks handpicked for the Core 25 series. Each disc is pressed on heavyweight vinyl, housed in minimalist sleeves that echo the band’s DIY aesthetic. Collectors can pre-order the pieces now via the band’s official store.
Band Background And Reissue Campaign
Formed in Tumwater, Washington, in 1991, UNWOUND became a seminal force in post-hardcore, fusing angular guitar work and propulsive rhythms. The lineup—Justin Trosper (vocals, guitar), Vern Rumsey (bass), and Sara Lund (drums)—released four studio albums and several EPs on Touch and Go Records before disbanding in 2002. In late 2022, the trio reunited for sold-out festival appearances and club dates, reigniting interest in their catalog.
The Core 25 project celebrates 25 essential tracks from across UNWOUND’s tenure. Over five rounds, fans have seen limited batches drop at regular intervals: Rounds 1 through 4 delivered 6 tracks each, and now Round 5 completes the core set. This campaign marks the first time many of these recordings are available on vinyl, with meticulous remastering handled by the band’s long-time engineer.

Next week, UNWOUND will close out the series with a four-track 2×7″ Pre-Order Bonus EP. Available exclusively to those who pre-order the full Core 25 collection, the double 7-inch features rare B-sides and live cuts not included in the main drops. Numbered out of 500, the pressing underscores the limited nature of the campaign.
