Cmafest Announcement

“Got another CMAfest show to tell y’all about! I’ll be playing @theryman & @BMI Block Party on Thursday, June 5 on the PNC Plaza stage! #BMInashville,” Williams wrote, alongside photos of himself onstage with guitar in hand and a wide grin that hints at the high-energy set fans can expect. The Ryman & BMI Block Party has become a fan favorite corner of CMAfest, offering free outdoor performances from up-and-coming stars and established acts alike.

Williams joins a roster of country artists bridging traditional songwriting with modern production at this year’s festival. PNC Plaza, located at the foot of the Ryman Auditorium, transforms into an open-air venue each June, with attendees lining up hours early for wristbands and prime spots near the stage.

Wynn’s Rodeo Roots Fuel His Music

Born and raised in Weatherford, Texas, Wynn Williams comes from a musical family—his grandfather even fronted a band in the 1960s. Before turning to full-time songwriting, Williams competed as a rodeo cowboy, a background he credits with teaching him grit, showmanship, and the value of a great story.

After graduating from Texas A&M University, Williams dove headfirst into music. He’s since released a string of self-produced singles praised for their authenticity and catchy hooks. Tracks like “Tornado,” “Long Gone” and “Like the Wind” showcase his knack for blending country instrumentation with rock-tinged energy. His recent Instagram feature from an April show at 89th Street OKC called his songwriting “incredible,” a sentiment echoed by fans across the southern tour stops.

Beyond Cmafest: Upcoming Dates And Highlights

Williams isn’t slowing down after CMAfest. In a separate Instagram update, he shared that he’ll make his headlining debut at the historic Gruene Hall in Texas on June 26. Gruene Hall, known as “Texas’s oldest dance hall,” has hosted legends from George Strait to Lyle Lovett—and now it’ll welcome Williams for what promises to be a milestone night.

His June 26 post read: “Talk about a dream come true, y’all! Can’t wait to make our headlining debut at the legendary @gruenehall! See y’all there on June 26!” Fans who snag tickets will hear both new festival anthems and fan-favorite deep cuts from Williams’s growing catalog.

Connecting With Fans And Historic Moments

Offstage, Williams has shown a keen ability to engage his audience with storytelling and community moments. Earlier this year at Nashville International Airport, he paused his travel schedule to meet World War II veterans traveling with the Gary Sinise Foundation. Sharing photos of the encounter, Williams called it “a huge honor” to hear their memories from Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

His social-media updates also highlight his charitable efforts, from rescuing kittens to supporting local headlamp brands that helped during tight-space rescues. Yet, amid these activities, the music remains his core focus—every post circles back to songwriting, touring plans, and the friendships built through Country Countdown and festival circuits.

With CMAfest on the horizon, Wynn Williams is poised to bring that genuine spirit to a wider audience. Fans at PNC Plaza can expect a setlist that spans his top tracks, fresh festival anthems, and the cowboy-charged energy that’s become his signature.

Between his rodeo-inspired origins, chart-worthy singles, and a summer stretch of festival and headlining shows, Wynn Williams is carving out a standout presence in country music. Nashville’s CMAfest crowd on June 5 will get an early look at how this Texas artist is carrying real country music forward—one rodeo-driven melody at a time.
