Sold-out Philadelphia Date
Open Mike Eagle opened pre-sales for his NGU Tour earlier this summer, and the Philly stop alongside experimental hip-hop trio Clipping is officially sold out. The Chicago-born rapper shared a carousel of images featuring the tour poster on Instagram, confirming fans claimed every ticket within hours.

In his caption he warned: “don’t sleep. ever. buy a ticket and stay up til the show.” Eagle’s live reputation—equal parts intimate storyteller and rhythmic architect—makes his headline sets a hot commodity.

Clipping’s Philly Energy
Clipping, known for their abrasive, noise-infused beats and intricate storytelling, have collaborated with Eagle both on record and on stage. Their joint appearance in Philadelphia marked a reunion of two boundary-pushing acts: Eagle featured on Clipping’s Splendor & Misery album, and the trio opened several dates on his last headline run. Philadelphia’s fervent response underscores how Eagle’s fan base has grown alongside his peers in the experimental hip-hop underground.

Boston And Burlington Added
Just hours after the sellout announcement, Eagle revealed that Oceanator—the Boston-based rock ensemble blending post-hardcore riffs with electronic textures—will join him in Boston and Burlington. These added shows broaden his NGU Tour, which also includes headline gigs with Cav Wins and Rhys Langston and support slots opening for indie-pop duo Phantogram.
Building On Tour Momentum
The NGU Tour—an acronym Eagle teased as “New Ghetto Universe” in July—supports his upcoming fifth studio album, Another Triumph of Ghetto Engineering, due August 25. In an earlier Instagram announcement (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJcMcTnAYS3/), he told fans: “this is the first of a lot of news to come. don’t sleep.”
That rollout follows his spring trek with Future Islands, which he described as “doing sorcery” across venues from Charlotte to Anaheim. Now back on his own bill, Eagle invites audiences to experience his signature fusion of comedy, philosophy and genre-bending production.
What’s Next For Eagle’s Tour
With the Philadelphia date sold out and new Boston and Burlington shows on sale, fans are racing to lock down tickets. Eagle has teased “more announcements coming soon” under #NGUtour, suggesting additional cities may be unveiled. His 2017 Brick Body Kids Still Daydream tour sold out multiple nights, so anticipation is high that the remaining stops will follow suit.
Beyond live dates, Eagle’s broader career continues to expand. Since debuting Unapologetic Art Rap in 2010, he’s released critically acclaimed albums like Dark Comedy and Anime, Trauma and Divorce, and carved a niche as a multimedia storyteller—hosting the Past Due podcast and collaborating with comic and political voices. But this summer’s schedule focuses squarely on the stage: from headlining theaters to co-headlining with genre-defying peers.
Tickets for the newly added Boston and Burlington shows are now available through Eagle’s official site and venue box offices. If Philadelphia was any indication, these seats won’t last long—so heed his own advice and don’t sleep.
