Whale Jam Benefit Announced
O.A.R. has officially put Whale Jam on the calendar. In an Instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ73uojsXmi/), the Baltimore-born rockers shared: “🎫Tickets for Whale Jam at @mgmmusichall on June 3rd are officially on sale! We’re headlining this special night to raise awareness and support for the North Atlantic right whale, one of the world’s most endangered species. Joining us are @the_dipstagram, @brookandbluff, and our friend @biggsjason. Music, laughs, and a meaningful cause — don’t miss out. Grab your tickets now at LiveOAR.com/tour.”
Backing The North Atlantic Right Whale
The North Atlantic right whale population hovers around 360 individuals, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Once heavily hunted, these gentle giants now face ship strikes and entanglement in fishing gear. Proceeds from Whale Jam will benefit organizations dedicated to rescuing entangled whales, monitoring migration corridors, and advocating for safer shipping lanes.
Lineup Of Support Acts
Joining O.A.R. on June 3 are:
• The Dip – the Seattle-based soul-jazz quartet known for groovy riffs and tight harmonies.
• Brook & Bluff – the Nashville duo blending Americana storytelling with modern folk.
• Biggs Jason – the Comedic musician whose viral TikTok mashups have landed him late-night TV spots.
Each supporting act brings its own audience—and a shared passion for ocean advocacy.
O.a.r.’s Ongoing Community Engagement
Charity events have become a hallmark of O.A.R.’s tour schedule. Earlier this month, frontman Marc Roberge played two sold-out solo nights at City Winery in Chicago and St. Louis, raising funds for local music programs (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ17fluO_2d/). This fall, the band is slated to perform at RockAutism in Currituck, North Carolina, an event benefiting autism research and supportive services (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJmQrZ_uWvK/).
Formed in 1996 in Rockville, Maryland, O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) gained fame through campus radio and word-of-mouth, eventually breaking through with singles like “Shattered (Turn the Car Around)” and “Crazy Game of Poker.” Over the years, they’ve toured with Dave Matthews Band, received gold and platinum certifications, and remained independent-minded—all while giving back through benefit concerts and educational outreach.
