Rapper, actor, and entrepreneur Ice-T has officially opened the doors to his new business venture in New Jersey. The hip-hop legend took to Instagram to announce the grand opening of a new cannabis dispensary, The Medicine Woman, located at 660 Tonnelle Avenue in Jersey City.

In the Instagram post, Ice-T can be seen in what appears to be the new storefront, making the announcement with enthusiasm. The caption reads, “We are Officially Open… 660 Tonnelle Ave Jersey City NJ…. Pull up!!” while tagging the business’s official account @themedwomannj.

The Celebrity Connection

Ice-T, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, has long been known for his multifaceted career. Rising to prominence in the 1980s as a pioneering gangsta rap artist, he later transitioned into acting and currently stars as Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola on NBC’s long-running series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” a role he has held since 2000.

This new business venture adds to Ice-T’s diverse portfolio of entrepreneurial activities beyond his entertainment career. The Medicine Woman in Jersey City represents his entry into the growing cannabis retail industry in New Jersey, where recreational marijuana was legalized in 2021.

The dispensary’s grand opening was quite the event. In a post, he shared: “Yesterday’s Grand Opening was CRAZY.. Shout out to one of the @themedwomannj’s actual Partners @taylorkinney111 CHICAGO FIRE 🔥.” The post reveals that actor Taylor Kinney, known for his role in the NBC drama series “Chicago Fire,” is actually a partner in the business venture.

Beyond The Cannabis Business

Outside of this new business venture, Ice-T remains active in his music career. He recently promoted Body Count, his heavy metal band formed in 1990, emphasizing their unique sound: “BodyCount is not Rap Rock… BC is BC.. There’s nothing quite like us… Do you agree…?” The band recently released a cover of Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” featuring David Gilmour, which Ice-T described as a “World Premiere” in another post.

The Growing Cannabis Industry

The Medicine Woman’s opening in Jersey City comes as the cannabis industry continues to expand in New Jersey following the state’s legalization of recreational marijuana. The new dispensary joins a growing number of legal cannabis retailers in the state, with Ice-T leveraging his celebrity status to bring attention to the business.

For fans of Ice-T or those interested in visiting the new establishment, the dispensary is now open at 660 Tonnelle Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey, as announced in his Instagram post.

This venture marks another chapter in Ice-T’s diverse career that has spanned music, television, film, and now the cannabis industry.
