Melissa Etheridge Gears Up For Europe Tour
Grammy-winning rocker Melissa Etheridge is counting down the days until she brings her live show to Europe. In her latest Instagram post, Etheridge wrote, “Only 3 more weeks until Europe! You’re not going to want to miss this – get your tickets now at MelissaEtheridge.com/events 🎟️.” The photo, shot by @rockdnamag, shows Etheridge on stage under blue lights, guitar in hand and a smile across her face.
Etheridge’s European dates will span several major cities including London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris. While the full schedule was not posted in the caption, fans can find venues and ticket links on the singer’s official site. The announcement follows a previous Instagram tease in which she reminded followers that there was “One month until the European leg of the tour begins! What are some songs you’re hoping to hear? 🎸🎵,” a post photographed by @jaimemariefineart.
Born in June 1961 in Leavenworth, Kansas, Etheridge has been a prominent figure in rock since her 1988 debut album. She broke through with her 1993 release Yes I Am, featuring Grammy-winning hits like “Come to My Window” and “I’m the Only One.” Across four decades, she’s earned two Academy Award nominations and four Grammy Awards, building a devoted international fan base.
Etheridge’s live shows are known for fiery guitar riffs and raw, heartfelt delivery. In recent months, she’s performed sold-out dates across North America as part of her Yes We Are Tour, named after her 2018 album. Now she’s taking that energy overseas, marking her first headlining European shows in several years.
Fan Engagement Heats Up On Instagram
In the comments under the “Three weeks” post, fans chimed in with setlist requests and excitement. @rocknmelissa wrote, “Can’t wait to hear ‘I Want to Come Over’ live!” while @euro_etheridge_fan posted GIFs of herself dancing. Etheridge has built a reputation for curating each setlist based on local favorites, often throwing in deep cuts alongside her classic anthems.
Etheridge’s team, known as #TeamME, has been sharing behind-the-scenes content on Instagram Stories. Earlier this month, they posted rehearsal clips and snapshots of the band soundchecking in New York ahead of the European flight. Studio sessions featuring new song ideas have also leaked online, hinting that Etheridge might debut unreleased material when she lands in London.
Ticket pre-sales are already under way. Etheridge Nation members received early access on April 30, and general on-sale began May 2. Prices start at approximately €50, with VIP packages available for up-close meet-and-greets. Fans in Dublin, Stockholm, Barcelona and Milan are encouraged to secure seats as venues are expected to sell out quickly.
Beyond her music career, Etheridge has been active in advocacy. Her nonprofit, the Etheridge Foundation, was recently named a Bronze Sponsor of an international psychedelic science conference for its work on opioid use disorder and plant-based therapies. While that effort focuses on harm reduction and trauma healing, her tour proceeds will also benefit LGBTQ+ youth initiatives in select European cities.
Melissa’s Instagram also featured an old-school backstage shot from 1995, celebrating the 30-year anniversary of Yes I Am. In that throwback, she’s shown barefoot onstage, leather jacket and signature curly hair, reminding fans of her enduring appeal.
The singer-songwriter will kick off her European run at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, followed by sold-out gigs at Amsterdam’s Paradiso and Berlin’s Columbiahalle. The tour wraps in Paris at Le Trianon before she returns to North America for summer festivals.
GRAMMY spotlight is only one facet of Etheridge’s public image. She’s a four-time Grammy winner, a Time Person of the Year in 2018, and an Academy Award nominee for her song “I Need to Wake Up.” Through personal challenges – including a breast cancer diagnosis she survived in 2004 – Etheridge has used her platform to advocate for health awareness and equality.
Her European tour marks a milestone for a career that’s sold over 20 million albums worldwide. As she reminds fans, “This isn’t just a concert – it’s a community coming together through music.” More details and complete tour dates are available at MelissaEtheridge.com/events.
Etheridge’s countdown is on. With just three weeks to go, tickets are the hottest items on rock fans’ lists this summer.
