Tour Kickoff And Tickets
New York City–based indie outfit Lifeguard, signed to Matador Records, has dropped an expanded routing for its ‘Ripped and Torn’ campaign, now featuring over 30 dates across the US and Canada. The trek commences at Chicago’s Thalia Hall on Saturday, June 28, where early-arrival fans will get a first taste of the band’s upcoming album. From there it barrels through The Sinkhole in St. Louis (June 29) and Norris Place in Louisville (June 30)—one of five newly added stops. The run then hits Nashville’s Blue Room (July 1), Columbus’s Ace of Cups (July 2), Toronto’s The Baby G (July 4) and Montreal’s L’escogriffe (July 5). Into the second week the band powers through Kingston, Medford, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Raleigh, Atlanta, Memphis and New Orleans. A Texas circuit features Houston, Austin and Denton, while the West Coast leg loops through Albuquerque, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Santa Cruz and San Francisco. The penultimate stretch covers Portland, Olympia, Seattle and Boise, and the tour wraps up in Salt Lake City, Denver, Kansas City, Minneapolis before closing at Cudahy, Wisconsin on Wednesday, August 6.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 AM local time through each venue’s official channels, with pre-order bundles for ‘Ripped and Torn’ available via Lifeguard’s link in bio—including limited-edition vinyl variants, signed posters and exclusive t-shirts. Early reactions on the announcement post (instagram.com/p/DJ7P0DJIzVq/) show fans in Louisville and Olympia already marking their calendars.
Support Acts Highlight
Parking Band US, fronted by Chicago’s Noah Larkin, will open with driving post-punk anthems drawn from their 2024 EP. L.A.-based Autobahn 212 follows with shimmering guitar hooks and synth flourishes, while New York’s veteran noise-rock trio TV Buddha—anchored by Matador alumnus Jim Sykes—brings a high-octane closing set. These three distinct styles are designed to complement Lifeguard’s taut rhythms and ensure each evening delivers a full spectrum of indie-rock energy.
Why This Tour Matters
After previewing singles like “Bleach Dreams” and “City Lights” earlier this year, Lifeguard’s streaming numbers surged into six figures, laying the groundwork for a full-scale tour. Their expanded routing into secondary markets like Louisville, Olympia and Cudahy reflects a strategic push toward grassroots venues and word-of-mouth buzz. Attendees will get an exclusive first listen to unreleased material in intimate settings before the album’s official release, making these shows must-see dates for dedicated fans.
Label Spotlight
Lifeguard joins the storied roster of Matador Records, the Brooklyn-based indie label founded in 1989 by Chris Lombardi and Gerard Cosloy. From early breakthroughs with Pavement’s Slanted and Enchanted and Yo La Tengo’s eclectic LPs to recent reunion performances—Pavement on The Colbert Show and a sold-out run at San Francisco’s The Chapel—Matador has consistently championed innovative artists. This spring, Car Seat Headrest frontman Will Toledo jumped into a live AMA on Reddit’s r/indieheads on May 22, reinforcing Matador’s direct-to-fan ethos. With support from label mates Parking, Autobahn and TV Buddha, Lifeguard’s coast-to-coast journey adds a new chapter to Matador’s live legacy.
Merch, Meet-and-greets And Extra Perks
Alongside ticket sales, special merch bundles include limited-edition posters signed by the band, exclusive tour T-shirts and colored vinyl—available for pre-order now. On select dates, Lifeguard will host pop-up record-signing events at local indie shops, giving fans a front-row chance for autographs and selfies, and a peek at life on the road.
Fans eager to lock in tickets can visit lifeguardofficial.com or follow @lifeguard_band for direct links to each show. With ‘Ripped and Torn’ pre-orders live and venue doors about to open nationwide, this sprawling summer tour promises to be one of 2025’s most talked-about indie-rock experiences.
