Ledisi’s Resilient Return To The Stage

Ledisi arrived in Cleveland brimming with gratitude, proclaiming on Instagram, “I’m so happy I didn’t quit. I would have missed so much stuff. Cleveland OH see ya tonight! @hobcleveland!” The Grammy-nominated singer shared the backstage shot—captured by @rontyoung—that kicked off her June 17 stop at the House Of Blues. Fans flocked to the intimate venue for the kickoff of her Love You Too tour, celebrating her message of perseverance and passion.

Known offstage as Ledisi Anibade Young, the New Orleans–born artist has built a two-decade career blending R&B, jazz and gospel. She first caught critics’ attention with her 2007 album Lost & Found, earning a Best New Artist Grammy nod. Since then she’s racked up more than a dozen nominations, wowing live audiences with her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence.

On social media, Ledisi cited her decision not to walk away from music as a defining moment. Fans responded with cheers and tears when she opened with “I Love You Too,” the tour’s title track and a fan favorite from her latest project. Backed by a tight seven-piece band, she moved seamlessly through classics like “Alright” and deep cuts such as “Imagine” that showcase her gospel roots.

A recent Detroit post had her reminiscing about humble beginnings: “We started in a small club that only fit 20 people and Amp Fiddler came on stage and jammed with me. That was 25 years ago,” she wrote. Twenty years later, she’s packing theaters across North America, from St. Petersburg to Greensboro.

Up Next On The Love You Too Tour

Following Cleveland, Ledisi heads to St. Louis on June 19 at the Stifel Theater, then to Turfway Park in Florence, KY on June 20. Her week continues with dates in Memphis (June 21), Huntsville (June 22) and Charlotte (June 24). Special guests include Kindred The Family Soul in Stockbridge, GA (June 28) and Marsha Ambrosius, who’s been tagged in promotional posts throughout the run.

Tour-goers have noted the singer’s candid updates—documenting everything from flight delays to mounting a chest cold—yet praising her commitment to deliver stellar shows. In Louisville, she thanked fans and shared, “The stuff you don’t see on the journey… It’s all worth it.” On Father’s Day she posted a heartfelt tribute to her late father, illustrating the personal stakes behind her performances.

Beyond live music, Ledisi has expanded into acting with roles in Best Man Holiday and Greenleaf, underscoring her versatility. Her longtime stylist Nonja McKenzie, hair artist Sir Tony and makeup pro Kymmy Izabeauty have also trended alongside #BLKWMN, a celebration of Black women she champions in her art.

Tickets remain available at LEDISI.com for remaining dates, offering VIP packages that include meet-and-greets and signed merch. From intimate theaters to amphitheaters, the Love You Too tour maps a journey of hard-won success—and plenty of high notes.

Whether she’s sparking goosebumps with a stirring ballad or igniting the crowd with upbeat grooves, Ledisi’s Cleveland showcase proved one thing: perseverance pays off. She closed the night declaring, “I love where God is leading me. It is well with my soul,” leaving fans buzzing long after the final encore.
