Detroit’s Ghettotech Trailblazers
HiTech Detroit formed in 2022 around three DJs and MCs: King Milo, Milf Milo Chops and 47Chops. In less than two years, they’ve stormed the global Ghettotech scene with rapid-fire DJ sets and gritty live mic action. They’ve headlined Boiler Room Chicago in 2024, taken over The Lot Radio in January 2025 and blown out crowds at July’s RALLY festival in East London.
Their sound is relentless: slamming bass, fast-paced percussion and streetwise vocals that force dancefloors to erupt. Tracks like “TAKE YO PANTIES OFF” (ft. George Riley) and the LIL BOOTYMIX EP define their unapologetic party ethos. On May 17, HiTech teased new material with the caption “*THE MUSIC IS OUT “UNOFFICIALLY NIGGA! GO LISTEN TO IT BEFORE @movementdetroit 24-26th*,” hinting at an upcoming official drop on May 23.
In DJ Mag’s Recognise series (#083), the trio sat down with Cameron Cook to discuss their Coachella set, the ethos of Ghettotech and the upcoming mixtape “HONEYPAQQ Vol. 1.” They described the project as an homage to Detroit’s boot-and-sneaker culture, blending old-school machine funk with fresh vocal samples and modern production.
What To Expect
Tonight’s party promises a cross-section of raw Ghettotech cuts and new releases fresh off the tape deck. dotwavnotwave will handle the warm-up before HiTech Detroit storms the stage, armed with 45-RPM vinyl, DIY attitude and crowd-splitting bass drops.
Doors open at 7pm, and advance RSVPs fill fast. HAUS Store LDN is gearing up for its liveliest midweek turn yet, with Collin Preston on camera, Lomavista on the decks and Wide Awake curating the afterparty vibes.
For fans of underground dance culture, this is a can’t-miss collision of Detroit pedigree and London’s party scene. Make sure you’re on the list, bring your dancing shoes and get ready for Ghettotech at full throttle tonight at HAUS.
