The artist shared a series of rehearsal photos to preview the mood: one image shows her strumming an acoustic guitar in a sunlit studio, another captures a to-go cup of coffee resting by her microphone. Kinney’s interactive approach aims to recreate the vibe of a casual coffeehouse performance—only from the comfort of home.

From Screen To Songwriter

Emily Kinney first gained widespread recognition as Beth Greene on AMC’s The Walking Dead (2011–2015). Since branching into music, she’s released multiple EPs and albums, including 2015’s This Is War, 2016’s Expired Lover and 2019’s Oh. Her blend of folk-pop songwriting has drawn praise for its emotional honesty and melodic charm.

Earlier this year, she brought her originals to Los Angeles stages. In a May post, Kinney announced she’d be opening for acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Donovan Woods at the Troubadour on June 24: “LOS ANGELES peeps!! I’m playing @thetroubadour on June 24th, opening for one of my very fav songwriters, @donovanwoods!!! I can’t believe my luck!! Come out and celebrate and cry to sad songs with me—from 8pm!” That performance sold out within days, underscoring her growing draw as a live act.

Fans also connected with her at songwriter showcases around Silver Lake and sets at The Camp 2025, where she tackled both high-energy numbers and stripped-down ballads. Those appearances hinted at the intimate moments Kinney plans to share during her weekly livestreams.

Ticket Perks & Merch

Tickets for the Summer Concert Series start at $15 per device and include access to all Friday streams throughout the season. Early-bird buyers secure a limited-edition merch bundle featuring a branded tumbler, lyric postcard set and enamel pin inspired by her upcoming album sessions.

Kinney has made it clear that the livestreams will blend old and new. “I’ll sing songs yer favs,” she promises, alongside “sneaky listen of all the new songs I’ve been recording.” She’s hinted at debuting at least two unreleased tracks each week, giving subscribers the chance to vote on which numbers should be polished for future releases.

Each show will run about 45 minutes, with a 15-minute fan Q&A segment where viewers can request covers and share coffee recommendations. A backstage chat feature on Veeps will let small breakout groups meet Kinney after each set, deepening the sense of community around her music.

Kinney’s pivot to streaming comes as more artists embrace digital venues. By offering a summer-long series rather than a one-off event, she’s tapping into fans’ desire for regular creative connection—especially after touring limitations in recent years.

As tickets go live, Kinney has invited followers to head to her Instagram bio for the Veeps link. Whether you tune in for rough demos or polished arrangements, Friday nights with Emily Kinney are shaping up to be one of the season’s most inviting digital gatherings.

Get your summer Fridays lined up—iced coffee optional, sing-along encouraged.
