Fans are encouraged to check the link in Yoakam’s Instagram bio for ticket information.
The Nashville Show And Special Guests
The Nashville performance represents a significant addition to Yoakam’s tour schedule, particularly with its connection to the prestigious Americana Music Festival. This special concert brings together multiple generations of country music legacy with its lineup.
Shooter Jennings, son of outlaw country legend Waylon Jennings, will perform with his band The Werewolves of Los Angeles. Also joining the bill is Ben Haggard, son of the late country music icon Merle Haggard, adding another layer of country music heritage to the evening.
Dwight Yoakam’s Recent Activities
The Nashville show announcement comes during a busy period for Yoakam, who recently released his first album of new material in nine years. The album titled ‘Brighter Days’ features collaborations with Post Malone, including the track ‘I Don’t Know How to Say Goodbye (Bang Bang Boom Boom),’ which was accompanied by a music video featuring both artists.
Yoakam has been maintaining an active touring schedule despite a recent health setback. On April 12, the singer was forced to cancel his performance at Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino in Salamanca, NY due to a bronchial infection. According to his team’s statement, that show has been rescheduled for November 8, 2025, with The Mavericks remaining as support.
The Legendary Career Of Dwight Yoakam
Dwight Yoakam has built an impressive career spanning multiple decades as one of country music’s most distinctive voices. Yoakam has recorded many albums and compilations, selling over millions of records worldwide. He has won two Grammy Awards.
Born in Pikeville, Kentucky, Yoakam moved to Nashville in the late 1970s to pursue his music career but found the Nashville music scene at that time unreceptive to his more traditional honky-tonk style. He relocated to Los Angeles, where he helped pioneer the ‘cowpunk’ movement, blending traditional country with punk rock energy.
Yoakam achieved his breakthrough with his debut album ‘Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.’ in 1986. Throughout his career, he has maintained his distinctive sound while collaborating with artists across multiple genres, from Buck Owens to Beck. Beyond music, Yoakam has established himself as an accomplished actor, appearing in films like ‘Sling Blade,’ ‘Panic Room,’ and ‘Wedding Crashers.’
Radio Presence And Continued Influence
In addition to his recording and touring schedule, Yoakam hosts ‘Dwight Yoakam & The Bakersfield Beat’ on SiriusXM radio (channel 349). Recent episodes have featured notable guests including Jamey Johnson and the band Cake, reflecting Yoakam’s ongoing influence and connections in the industry.
With the announcement of this special Nashville performance during the Americana Music Festival, Yoakam continues to demonstrate his relevance across multiple generations of country and roots music fans. The combination of his legendary status with special guests representing important country music lineages promises to make this September show one of the highlights of Nashville’s fall concert calendar.
Tickets for the September 9 performance at Ascend Amphitheater are expected to sell quickly given the special nature of the event and its connection to the Americana Music Festival.
