Chart Domination On Olis

Poland’s official OLiS chart—compiled by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry (ZPAV)—has crowned Adam Nergal Darski’s new project, The Shit Ov God, as the week’s top act. In a single sweep, the band claimed the #1 spot for LP, CD and overall album sales, marking an impressive debut in Darski’s home market.

In an Instagram post on March 18, Darski (@nergal69) shared a graphic reading “‘The Shit Ov God’ is #1 in the OLiS charts this week 🇵🇱 LP #1 CD #1 Album #1” alongside a thank-you message to supporters, affectionately dubbed “legions.” “Thank you for all of your support, legions! This wouldn’t be possible without you 🔥,” he wrote, underscoring the community effort behind the release.

From Behemoth To The Shit Ov God

Adam Michał Darski—better known by his stage name Nergal—is no stranger to chart success. As the frontman of extreme metal powerhouse Behemoth since its inception in 1991, he’s overseen a string of acclaimed albums that pushed the boundaries of blackened death metal. The Shit Ov God, however, represents a fresh outlet for Darski’s songwriting and experimentation.

Launched in late 2023, The Shit Ov God blends thrash, groove and industrial textures, offering a concise but intense listening experience. While Darski remains committed to Behemoth’s large-scale productions and arena tours, this side project allows him to explore sharper riffs and compact arrangements without compromise.

Spotify Playlists And Berlin Takeover

Ahead of the chart announcement, The Shit Ov God garnered early momentum on streaming platforms. In a February Instagram update, Darski highlighted that the band’s lead single “Sowing Salt” had secured spots on Spotify’s “Kickass Metal,” “All New Metal” and “Energy Booster: Metal” playlists—an achievement that helped drive pre-orders for physical formats.

Just days before hitting #1 in Poland, the band showcased its live prowess on the Continent. On March 15, Darski posted snapshots from a Berlin club show under the caption “Die Scheiße Gottes Über alles!” (“The Shit of God above all!”), capturing a frenzied crowd and the group’s thunderous stage presence. These promotion efforts, both digital and on the road, set the stage for the album’s swift climb up the charts.

Fan Reactions And Next Moves

Social media buzz around The Shit Ov God has been overwhelmingly positive. Fans praised the project’s raw energy and Darski’s multifaceted approach to heavy music. Comments ranged from “a return to classic aggression” to “innovation that honors tradition,” signaling wide appeal across the metal community.

With Poland numbers secured, eyes now turn to international markets. Behemoth’s extensive touring experience could provide a blueprint for The Shit Ov God’s next outings, whether in European festivals or a dedicated headlining run. While no official dates have been announced, Darski’s track record suggests fans won’t have to wait long for live shows.

Momentum is also building around physical collectibles. Limited-edition vinyl variants and exclusive CD bundles sold out within hours of release, prompting speculation about additional pressings and deluxe packages. For a project barely three months old, The Shit Ov God has already established itself as a force to be reckoned with in metal.

Momentum rarely comes this quickly in today’s crowded marketplace. But with a proven frontman, strong material and a dedicated fanbase ready to mobilize, the project’s future looks as explosive as its debut week. Adam Nergal Darski has once again demonstrated his ability to transcend expectations—and chart history—in his native Poland.
