Chuck Zito Prepares Documentary For Theaters
Chuck Zito has a message for fans eager to see his life on the big screen. In an Instagram post, the 74-year-old actor, former boxer, martial artist and tattoo artist announced that his documentary CHUCK ZITO AN AMERICAN STORY is gearing up for a wide theatrical run. “Next week I go to California and sit down with some people interested in putting my documentary into a thousand movie theaters for a few weeks and then it will be on one of the main streaming channels,” Zito wrote.
On The Road To California
Zito’s plan is straightforward: secure a coast-to-coast theatrical engagement, then deliver the film to a streaming service such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Showtime or Hulu. He promises to keep followers updated on dates, venues and the ultimate digital home. “I want to thank everyone for following me on Instagram and all those who are asking when my documentary . . . comes out and what channel it will be streaming on,” he added, signing off with a heartfelt “I love you all and stay safe!”

Building Buzz With Early Screenings
The documentary’s premiere at AMC Westbury in Long Island offered a preview of the interest it’s generating. Zito hosted more than 400 guests for a red-carpet event, during which his friend Artie Carozza opened the night by singing the National Anthem under a 50-foot American flag. Among the attendees were Zito’s 93-year-old mother and special guests including Scott LoBaido and Curtis Sliwa, who have backed the project from its earliest screenings in Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Another Instagram update showed Zito at Ponte Vecchio in Bay Ridge alongside LoBaido and Sliwa, dubbing him “The People’s Mayor.” And after a May 15 private screening, he shared a note from friend Frank Spotorno praising his life’s journey.

A Life Worth Documenting
Born in 1948 in Kingston, New York, Charles “Chuck” Zito Jr. rose to prominence as an East Coast Hell’s Angels vice-president before transitioning to acting and stunt work. His résumé includes roles in major films like Birdy and Tango & Cash, as well as TV appearances on The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy and Hawaii Five-0. He’s also a decorated boxer and longtime martial arts enthusiast.

Zito’s story weaves together street life, professional fighting, high-profile friendships and the art of tattooing. The documentary promises never-before-seen footage and interviews, incl uding an introduction by President Donald J. Trump, whom Zito briefly thanks in his premiere post.

Looking Ahead To Streaming
With a theatrical window on the horizon, Zito is now focusing on securing a streaming deal that will expose his story to an even wider audience. Whether viewers catch it in a local cinema next season or queue it up online, his goal remains the same: share the ups and downs of a life lived on the edge.
