X-men ’97 Cast Group Photo Is Live
The official twelve-member X-Men ’97 group photo is now up on the Washington State Summer Con site, and fans are already buzzing. Organizers have pulled together an all-star lineup of voice actors from the hit Marvel animated series, inviting attendees to snag a unique opportunity: a group shot with everyone from Cyclops to Nightcrawler in one frame. You’ll find Ray Chase (Cyclops), Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Lenore Zann (Rogue), George Buza (Beast), A.J. LoCascio (Gambit), Ross Marquand (Professor X), Holly Chou (Jubilee), Matthew Waterson (Magneto), J.P. Karliak (Morph), Gui Agustini (Sunspot), Isaac Robinson-Smith (Lucas Bishop) and Adrian Hough (Nightcrawler) all listed in the official announcement. Group photo-op times for Saturday and Sunday are live on the schedule at wasummercon.com/x-men-97.
Spotlight On Ross Marquand
Among the dozen arriving in Puyallup, Ross Marquand stands out as the voice of Professor Charles Xavier in X-Men ’97. A graduate of the University of Colorado’s theater program, Marquand first turned heads on AMC’s Mad Men playing Paul Newman in a critically praised episode. His breakout came in 2015 when he joined The Walking Dead as Aaron, a role he inhabited across seven seasons until 2022. On the animation side, Marquand has built a formidable résumé: he’s lent his talents to Family Guy, Robot Chicken, American Dad! and Amazon’s Invincible, often showcasing his gift for celebrity impressions.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marquand has both on-screen and voice credits. He portrayed the Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and returned in Avengers: Endgame (2019) via digital performance capture. He also voices Ultron in several episodes of What If…? and other MCU spin-offs. For X-Men ’97, Marquand steps into the shoes of Professor X—taking over from original series actor Cedric Smith—and even voices villains like Doctor Doom and Apocalypse. In a recent Instagram post titled “To Puyallup, my X-Men,” organizers highlighted Marquand’s lifelong passion for the franchise: inspired by the ’90s animated series as a child, he now fulfills a dream by returning to its modern revival.
