At Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton on June 15, Hollywood Unlocked’s fifth annual Impact Awards drew A-list talent and changemakers dedicated to using their platforms for good. The evening, produced by Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee, celebrated artists, activists and digital innovators who drive social change.
Star-studded Celebration
Guests arrived in vibrant eveningwear under a canopy of chandeliers, snapping photos on the red carpet before entering a ballroom decorated with sleek gold accents. Jason Lee, known on Instagram as @theonlyjasonlee, welcomed attendees and presented a series of awards honoring achievements in community engagement, mental health advocacy and youth education. Tiffany Haddish, dazzling in a custom black-and-silver gown, posed alongside fellow honorees and accepted applause from industry peers.

The ceremony featured short films profiling recipients whose work ranges from launching literacy programs in underserved neighborhoods to organizing large-scale food drives. Presenters included rising actors, chart-topping musicians and entrepreneurs recognized for steering their influence toward nonprofit partnerships.
Onstage And Onscreen Achievements
Since her breakout role in the 2017 hit Girls Trip, Tiffany Haddish has built a resume that spans blockbuster comedies like Night School (2018) and the Marvel action-comedy Free Guy (2021). Beyond the big screen, she made Emmy history in 2021 by winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series after hosting Saturday Night Live—a rare honor for a Black female comic.
Her memoir, The Last Black Unicorn (2017), became a bestseller, and her voice-over work in animated features has introduced her to younger audiences. Haddish also headlines the Funny and Fearless Tour, with new summer dates recently announced for cities across the U.S.
Tiffany’s Philanthropic Impact
Off-screen, Haddish is equally committed to giving back. Her She Ready Foundation launched an upscale, prom-themed gala to benefit youth aging out of foster care, providing formal attire, career workshops and mentorship in a bid to replace childhood memories of moving with trash bags.

“Hosting this gala was about honoring those teens and giving them confidence,” Haddish said in a Fox 11 Los Angeles feature. The foundation has since distributed hundreds of suitcases, scholarship grants and internship placements, partnering with organizations that support career readiness.
She also collaborates with the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp, which offers free training in stand-up and improv to kids ages 9 to 16. Through these programs, Haddish mentors aspiring performers, underscoring her belief that laughter and opportunity can change lives.
Looking Ahead
With summer in full swing, Tiffany Haddish balances philanthropic events and her comedy tour with a slate of upcoming projects. She’s set to film a Netflix stand-up special in August and will serve as executive producer on a streaming drama highlighting foster-care reform.
As Hollywood Unlocked’s Impact Awards demonstrate, celebrity influence is increasingly measured by impact offstage as much as on. For Tiffany Haddish, the evening was more than a red-carpet appearance—it was a reminder that real star power comes from lifting others.
Her performance at the Impact Awards proves that, whether commanding a comedy club or championing social causes, Haddish continues to set the tone for what it means to be an entertainer with purpose.
