Event Invitation For Arts Students

Performing arts students in Malaga have a unique opportunity this summer. Sohrlin School, founded in partnership with Antonio Banderas’ Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, is offering free invitations to its IMAGINE showcase on Thursday, June 19 at 19:30h. The call went out in Spanish on Instagram:

“¡¡Atención estudiantes!! 📣

(English translation: “Attention students!! 📣
If you’re enrolled in any degree, vocational program or high school diploma related to creativity or performing arts, we want to invite you to our IMAGINE show and to join a talk with our school director @sohrlin_school on career opportunities in the performing arts and entertainment.”)

How To Secure Your Spot

Places are very limited. Interested students must email info@sohrlin.com with full name, institution, phone, email address and a copy of student ID or proof of enrollment. Successful applicants will receive a digital invitation granting access to both the performance and the post-show discussion.

A Glimpse Of Imagine

IMAGINE is designed to highlight emerging talent in acting, dance, staging and technical production. Last year’s edition featured original pieces that ranged from contemporary monologues to multimedia installations. This year, Sohrlin School promises a fresh lineup of student-led performances under the guidance of professional directors, choreographers and designers.

Chat With The Director

After the performance, attendees will join a round-table led by the school’s director. The session will cover career paths in theatre, film, TV and live entertainment. From audition prep to industry networking, students can ask questions and get practical tips on building a sustainable career in the arts.

About Antonio Banderas And Sohrlin School

Sohrlin School opened in 2021 as part of Antonio Banderas’ vision to foster local talent. The Malaga native—known for roles in The Mask of Zorro, The 33 and multiple Pedro Almodóvar films—has invested heavily in performance training. Beyond cinema, Banderas has produced several musicals at Teatro del Soho, including Gypsy.

In a recent Instagram post, Banderas reflected on the closing night of Gypsy:

“Ayer Gypsy, el musical producido por el Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, dejó caer el telón tal y como estaba previsto. Todos los objetivos cumplidos… Seguimos trabajando con esa idea. Hasta muy pronto.”

(“Yesterday Gypsy, the musical produced by Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, drew the curtain as planned. Every goal achieved… We keep working on that idea. See you soon.”)

This behind-the-scenes glimpse underscores his commitment to excellence and to giving students real-world insight into professional productions.

Why This Matters

For many students, an invitation to Sohrlin School’s IMAGINE show is more than a free ticket—it’s a chance to network, learn from industry pros and witness a professional-level production. As the Spanish arts sector continues to grow, events like this help bridge the gap between training and paid work.

Whether you’re studying drama, stagecraft or dance, sending that email could be the first step in a long creative journey.

Spaces are filling up fast—June 19 can’t come soon enough for Malaga’s next generation of performers.
