The actor also revealed that the Taj Mahal beckoned only four hours away by plane, but a tighter budget meant drawing the line at one heritage destination at a time. “I also found out the Taj Mahal was only 4 hours away,” he quipped, “but I’m not made of money so I had to draw the line.” Even so, this marks the farthest Hayes has ventured from his hometown.

Earlier during his Bangkok stay, he admitted a spicy food mishap in a post that read: “When a Thai waitress asks you if you like it hot, you say NO!” He also made an early-morning pilgrimage to Wat Pho, home of the Reclining Buddha, describing the experience as “very moving” and saying he felt “like I was in the presence of God.”
