Fan Demand Prompts Philly Launch

Real American Beer (RAB) answered a chorus of Pennsylvania fans this week, officially stocking cans in the “City of Brotherly Love.” After weeks of direct messages, emails and social-media comments—often delivered in ALL CAPS—the brand’s Instagram announced, “PA… we heard you. Loud and clear… So we brought RAB to home of BROTHER-ly love. Thanks for (im)patiently waiting. #realamericanbeer.” Photos accompanying the post show RAB’s signature red, white and blue cans stacked behind Hulk Hogan at a Philadelphia retailer.

Wrestling Legend Leads The Charge

Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea co-founded Real American Beer in late 2020, extending his persona as a wrestling icon into the craft-light lager market. A 12-time world champion and pop-culture fixture since the 1980s, Hogan has positioned RAB as a fan-driven brand, frequently interacting with customers on Instagram. In a previous post, RAB celebrated its tie-in with professional wrestling by declaring itself “Two American originals. @therealamericanbeer is the Official Beer of @rafwrestlingusa. Stronger together! 🥰🇺🇸.”

Since its launch, RAB has rolled out in Florida, Texas and select Midwestern markets. The Pennsylvania debut marks the first entry into the Northeast region. “We’ve always said this was about the people,” Hogan told the brand’s social audience. “Philly’s where fans spoke the loudest—so that’s where we landed.”

Where To Find Rab In Philly

Local bars and retailers are already pouring the lager. Enthusiasts can look for RAB on tap at neighborhood pubs and pick up six-packs at independent bottle shops throughout the city. According to the post’s geotags, outlets in Center City and Fishtown will be among the first to stock the cans. Pricing is on par with comparable craft-light beers, with six-packs rolling out in the $10 to $12 range.

To celebrate the launch, RAB has planned in-store tastings this weekend at two Philly locations. Attendees will meet brand ambassadors—some sporting Hogan’s signature bandana—and grab branded koozies while supplies last.

The push into Pennsylvania follows a broader growth strategy unveiled earlier this year. RAB’s founders have teased new packaging and seasonal flavors on Instagram, including a cherry-lime variant expected later in summer. The brand also continues to court wrestling fans through partnerships like Real American Freestyle, a league co-founded by Hogan that aims to professionalize amateur wrestling.

Though beer distribution can face regulatory hurdles, Pennsylvania’s relaxed license laws for small brewers have paved the way for RAB’s entry. Local distributors signed on after sensing strong demand, and RAB’s marketing team credited grassroots fan campaigns—complete with all-caps pleas—for accelerating the timeline.

Consumers on social channels have already shared unboxing videos and shelf snaps under #realamericanbeer, celebrating the “home-of-the-brave” messaging that echoes Hogan’s wrestling catchphrases. One fan posted, “Took this to the Eagles game—instant MVP status,” alongside a Cheers GIF.

Hogan’s involvement remains emblematic: he appears in brand videos, hosts virtual meet-and-greets and invites fans to tag him in their own RAB posts. By blending celebrity reach with direct-to-consumer engagement, Real American Beer has carved a niche in a crowded craft market.

With Philadelphia now on the roster, the brand plans to continue eastward expansion in early 2024. Fans in New Jersey and New York have already started petition campaigns online, setting the stage for RAB’s next move.

As shelves fill and can-cracking selfies flood social feeds, one thing is clear: when the wrestling world meets the beer aisle, fans speak—and RAB listens.

Now that Real American Beer has claimed Philadelphia, the next chapter awaits literally down the road as more states prepare to hear that unmistakable call: “Brother, pour me another!”
