When travel plans fall apart, most celebrities might reschedule or cancel appearances. Not Ray J. The singer and entrepreneur took matters into his own hands—literally—when faced with flight cancellations ahead of his Charlotte, North Carolina performance.

In an Instagram post that’s quickly gaining attention, Ray J revealed his unconventional solution to transportation troubles. “CHARLOTTE NC!!! I WAS RUNNING LATE!!! NO FLIGHTS… NO PILOTS!!!” he wrote in his characteristically enthusiastic style. Instead of missing his appearance at The Millennium Tour, Ray J claims he “BOOKED THE JET AND GOT BEHIND THE CONTROLS MYSELF!!!”

The image shows Ray J in what appears to be the cockpit of a private aircraft, suggesting he piloted himself and his team to Charlotte to make the scheduled performance. According to his post, they “LANDED RIGHT ON TIME” despite the travel complications.

Upon arriving in Charlotte, Ray J joined R&B star Trey Songz during his set, performing his hit single “One Wish.” In his Instagram caption, Ray J expressed gratitude to Songz, writing, “THANK YOU @TREYSONGZ FOR LETTING ME PERFORM ONE WISH DURING YOUR SET!!!”

The singer concluded his post with a motivational message: “WHEN YOU LOCKED IN… YOU GONE FIND A WAY!!!” – adding hashtags related to The Millennium Tour, his Twitch channel, and RSVP, the tour’s production company.

This Charlotte performance marks another stop on The Millennium Tour, which has Ray J performing alongside other notable R&B and hip-hop artists. In a previous Instagram post, Ray J described the Chicago stop as “a movie,” noting that “the crowd was wild, the energy was raw, and the city showed up like only the Chi can.”

The tour appears to be heading to the West Coast next, with Ray J announcing upcoming shows in Las Vegas, Oakland, and Los Angeles in another recent post. “#THEMILLENNIUMTOUR HAS BEEN CRAZY!!! NEXT STOP WEST COAST!!! WE GOING ALL THE WAY UP!!!” he shared with his followers.

Ray J has been using the tour platform to showcase new music as well. In an earlier post, he mentioned a “NEW SMASH SINGLE OTW!!!” and thanked Trey Songz again for “bringing me out during his set to give the fans some new music” with collaborators Feather and Nia Dorsey.

William Ray Norwood Jr., known professionally as Ray J, first gained recognition in the 1990s with his acting debut on The Sinbad Show and later through his music career. The younger brother of singer Brandy Norwood, Ray J has released several albums and singles, with “One Wish” being among his most successful tracks. Beyond music and television appearances, he’s ventured into various business enterprises throughout his career.

As The Millennium Tour continues, Ray J shows no signs of slowing down – whether on stage or, apparently, in the cockpit.
