Comedian and improv artist Rasika Mathur recently shared a moving series of photos on Instagram documenting a deeply personal moment of connection with her dog Zephyr, following what she described as a powerful “cat-struck energy” session.
In her heartfelt post, Mathur revealed that after spending 75 minutes in what she playfully called a “no fucks given” cat energy state, she experienced a profound emotional moment. “Cleo Cat Creatrix came and held me with a sisterly embrace I’d never had, to honor and grieve a few sweet kitty lives that had meant something to me,” Mathur wrote.
The photos capture Mathur’s subsequent reunion with her dog Zephyr, whom she refers to as her “familiar.” The images show genuine moments of connection as she expressed gratitude “for choosing to be by my side on this wild ride.”
This emotional moment comes on the heels of Mathur’s participation in DragonFly Fest 2025, a transformational festival where she both attended and presented.
For Mathur, who described the DragonFly Fest as a place where people “celebrated what it means to be alive in harmony with ourselves, our community, our animals, and our Divine,” this moment with Zephyr appears to be a continuation of that harmonious connection, bringing the festival’s ethos into her everyday life.
As she noted in her post about the festival, “It’s always hard coming back, but we know we can choose to live in this vibration every day, it’s real and it’s possible.”
