Comedian and actor Patton Oswalt is taking his talents across the Atlantic this spring, announcing an upcoming performance at London’s Union Chapel on May 22nd. The renowned stand-up comedian shared the news with fans via Instagram, urging them to secure tickets quickly as the show is already more than halfway sold out.
“I’m heading across the pond to LONDON this May and can’t wait to see you all there! Catch my show at the Union Chapel in London on May 22nd!” Oswalt wrote in his Instagram post. “Tickets are more than halfway gone and this WILL sell out! Grab your tix now at the link in bio!”
London Tour Enthusiasm
This isn’t the first time Oswalt has expressed excitement about his London appearance. In a previous Instagram post, the comedian shared his enthusiasm for British culture, particularly cinema, saying, “LONDON I’m coming your way this May and I’m very excited. So excited I made a list of my favorite British films… and then immediately failed to keep it short.”
The video accompanying that post showed Oswalt rattling off an extensive list of his favorite British films, demonstrating his deep appreciation for UK culture ahead of his visit.
Expanding Tour Schedule
The London date is part of a busy touring schedule for Oswalt. Just days before his announcement about the London show, he revealed plans to perform in Montana and Wyoming with fellow comedian Emo Philips in mid-May.
“Bozeman, Montana and Casper, Wyoming—we’re finally coming your way! Catch me and the legendary @emophilips on a mini tour hitting the last two states I’ve never performed in,” Oswalt posted on April 15. The tour includes shows at The Elm in Bozeman on May 15 and at The Rialto in Casper on May 16 and 17.
This mini-tour with Philips will lead directly into Oswalt’s trip to the UK, making for a packed May schedule that takes him from the American West to London.
Creative Ventures Beyond Stand-up
Beyond his stand-up career, Oswalt has been busy with various creative projects. He recently promoted the anthology series “Shatter Belt” directed by Jim Byrkit, available on Apple TV. Oswalt described the four-episode series as exploring “some of the darkest, funniest, most human extremes in exploring where we’re going in the near and far future.”
He’s also deeply involved in the comic book world. In early April, Oswalt announced two comic projects: an anthology set in the “Minor Threats” universe titled “Welcome to Twilight” and a crossover mini-series called “Archie vs. Minor Threats” scheduled for release in August. The latter brings together the super criminals of Twilight City with the characters from Riverdale.
Local Comedy Events
While expanding his tour internationally, Oswalt continues to support the local comedy scene in Los Angeles. Just days ago, he promoted his “PATTON OSWALT & FRIENDS” show at Largo Los Angeles, teasing “an amazing lineup plus a surprise musical guest” and noting that someone who hasn’t performed at Largo “in a loooooong time” would be appearing.
Oswalt also recently took over SiriusXM Raw Comedy Live for a special broadcast, inviting fans to call in and talk to him live on air.
As tickets continue to sell quickly for his London appearance, fans in the UK should heed his advice and secure their spots soon. With Oswalt’s growing international presence and busy creative schedule, this Union Chapel performance promises to be a highlight for London comedy fans this spring.
