Tour Timeline
Nina West kicked off her Sugary Summer Tour with a splash earlier this season, taking her high-energy cabaret across the country. After selling out her debut run in Columbus, Ohio, West moved on to New York City, where her cheeky musical numbers and colorful choreography left audiences craving more. “After our sold out run in Columbus and our sold out show in NYC, we are ready to bring this big gay party to Rehoboth,” West wrote on Instagram, capturing the buzz that’s followed her from venue to venue.
With each performance, West has been joined by pianist Gretta Goodbottom, whose vivacious accompaniment underpins West’s witty lyrics and campy show-stopping moments. The duo has created a signature brand of drag entertainment—equal parts Broadway-worthy spectacle and Pride celebration.
Although the tour began as an extension of West’s acclaimed “Sugar in the Tank” residency in Provincetown, Massachusetts, this summer’s dates have broadened the show’s reach. West has hinted that more stops could be announced in the coming weeks, teasing fans with glimpses of rehearsal footage and costume reveals on her Instagram @ninawest.
Rehoboth Beach Debut
On July 6, Rehoboth Beach will get its turn in the spotlight, as West brings two afternoon shows to Clear Space Theatre Company. Doors open for a 2 pm matinee, followed by a 5 pm performance. Tickets went on sale immediately after her NYC announcement and are already moving fast. Fans can secure seats via the link in her bio: https://www.instagram.com/p/DK29kX7Snwq/.
Clear Space Theatre, known for its intimate black-box setting, will be transformed into a Pride-perfect playground complete with disco lights, confetti cannons, and West’s trademark humor. “We can’t wait to bring the pride fun!” West added, summing up the spirit of the day.
Local drag troupes and community groups are partnering with the theatre to host a pre-show meet-and-greet, making Rehoboth’s summer party feel like a full-scale Pride rally. Organizers expect visitors from across the East Coast to join what promises to be one of the season’s sweetest celebrations.
About Nina West
Born Andrew Levitt in 1977, Nina West first rose to fame on season 11 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. She went on to compete on All Stars season 11, earning the title of Miss Congeniality for her kindness and advocacy. Beyond the stage, West is a proud LGBTQ+ activist and philanthropist: her non-profit fund Queen has directed hundreds of thousands of dollars to the ACLU, GLSEN, The Trevor Project, and more.
A seasoned performer, West has hosted film screenings at Tribeca, starred in the horror-comedy Queens of the Dead, and headlined Provincetown’s Pilgrim House with “Sugar in the Tank,” a musical revue that ran from July through September last year. Critics have praised her for blending social commentary with camp, delivering messages of acceptance through catchy tunes and elaborate costumes.
West’s social feed offers a window into her creative process. In an April post, she teased her Provincetown run alongside keyboardist Yaron Spiwak, calling it “A Big Gay Musical Adventure.” Her posts often highlight the behind-the-scenes collaboration with stylists, hair and makeup teams, and fellow drag artists.
Offstage, West serves on the board of several LGBTQ+ organizations and has been honored by GLAAD for her visibility and outreach. She continues to use her platform to promote voting rights, anti-bullying campaigns, and arts education in underserved communities.
As her Sugary Summer Tour rolls into Rehoboth Beach, West cements her reputation not just as a drag superstar, but as a cultural force marrying entertainment with activism.
West’s two July 6 performances at Clear Space Theatre are part of what she promises will be an “unexpectedly sweet” summer outing. Fans who miss Rehoboth should watch @ninawest for further tour announcements, as more candy-colored stops may be on the way.
Whether you’re a longtime follower from her Drag Race days or a newcomer just discovering her blend of music, comedy, and advocacy, Nina West’s Sugary Summer Tour is shaping up to be one of the season’s most unforgettable Pride events.
