Actor and outspoken activist Michael Rapaport has shared footage on Instagram showing a man identified as Mohammad Shaham allegedly harassing Rabbi Poupko at Yale University. The video appears to show Shaham promoting what Rapaport describes as a “designated terror organization.”
In the Instagram post, Rapaport states that Shaham was previously exposed by the account @jewhatedb on January 7, 2025, during what he describes as the “Within Our Lifetime Hate and Intimidation Rally” outside of Tisch Hospital in New York City.
Protest Participant’s Background Revealed
According to the post, research and verification by Jew Hate Database led to Shaham being profiled by @canarymission and other organizations. The caption provides additional details about Shaham, noting that he resides in Fairfield, Connecticut, frequently participates in Within Our Lifetime rallies, is a member of the group, and was previously involved with CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations). The post also mentions that Shaham has prior arrests, though specific details about these arrests are not provided.
This post is part of Rapaport’s ongoing social media activism regarding antisemitism and the Israel-Hamas conflict, which has become a significant focus of his platform in recent months.
Rapaport’s Recent Advocacy Efforts
Michael Rapaport, known for roles in films like “Higher Learning” and “True Romance” as well as television shows including “Prison Break” and “Justified,” has become increasingly vocal about his support for Israel and concerns about antisemitism, particularly since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel.
In recent Instagram posts, Rapaport has addressed various aspects of the ongoing conflict. Just days before sharing the Yale University footage, he posted a video criticizing Steve Kerr for “standing up for Harvard or any of these super privileged universities,” suggesting disagreement with how some academic institutions have handled campus protests related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
He also recently shared content about his personal connection to the conflict, stating in one post: “In October 2023, I went into Gaza and came face-to-face with the kind of hatred my ancestors fled from. One that didn’t disappear after the Holocaust but instead found a new name: Hamas.” In this post, he described fighting against “an ideology – one that teaches children to hate Jews, glorifies death, and proudly calls for our extermination.”
Commitment To Highlighting Antisemitism
Rapaport has been consistent in keeping attention on the hostage situation, recently posting: “Agenda 1-59 had to be the HOSTAGES… 59 HOSTAGES remain in Gaza. 59 Hostages haven’t been given medicine, aid or seen in 565 Days.”
In another recent post, he created what he called “ZIONIST PERFORMANCE ART!!!” which he described as something he “wrote, directed, produced & POSTED on all my accounts & it’s still winning exactly one year later.”
The actor has also been critical of Harvard University, stating in a recent podcast clip shared on Instagram that “Harvard is a brand of Higher Learning” and “a PRIVATE UNIVERSITY that also takes OUR 2.2 BILLION in Federal Tax money.” He argued, “You don’t follow the rules you don’t deserve my TAX money,” noting that “Harvard also gets 53 BILLION in endowments.”
