Megan Boone, known for her starring role in NBC’s “The Blacklist,” marked a significant moment in her artistic journey as she celebrated the final day of performances for “SISSY” at the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City.
In a heartfelt Instagram post shared on Tuesday, the actress expressed her gratitude for the experience, sharing a collection of striking black and white photographs that captured the essence of the production.
“Thank you, Laura, for this. And to everyone who participated and joined us for SISSY. Today is our final day of performances @baryshnikovartscenter & I’m so grateful to have had this in my life,” Boone wrote in her caption, marking the conclusion of what appears to have been a deeply meaningful artistic endeavor.
The post featured a series of beautiful photographs taken by Q. Wharton (@qwharton), showcasing moments from the production. The images capture performers in various evocative poses and scenes, revealing the emotional depth and physical expressiveness of the theatrical piece.
While Boone gained widespread recognition for her television work, particularly her role as FBI profiler Elizabeth Keen in “The Blacklist” from 2013 to 2021, this theatrical production highlights her continued artistic exploration beyond the screen. The production at the prestigious Baryshnikov Arts Center—founded by legendary dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov—represents Boone’s engagement with the performing arts community.
This final performance post follows Boone’s earlier promotion of the show last week, when she shared that the New York Times had profiled the production. In that previous post, she noted: “I’m incredibly proud of this company and the work we are about to share this weekend. Evening performances for SISSY have sold out, but there are a few tickets left for the Saturday matinee.”
The sold-out status of the evening performances indicated the strong interest in the production, which appears to have resonated with New York’s theater audience.
While celebrating this theatrical chapter, Boone has been expanding her creative horizons in multiple directions. Earlier this year, she announced the launch of Weird Sister (@heyweirdsister), a development company focused on supporting artists creating exploratory and personal work across film, TV, and theater.
As she described it, “Weird Sister is time spent finding what I love and ways to share that with as many of you as possible. She works to foster material rarely enabled in the current media landscape; bringing into focus personal stories from feminine perspectives, exploring the havoc wrought by extractive systems, examining the symbiosis between the human psyche and our treatment of the natural world.”
Boone’s artistic journey reflects her versatility and willingness to explore different mediums. From her breakthrough role in “The Blacklist” to theatrical performances and her development company, she continues to seek out diverse creative expressions.
