Grammy-nominated producer Maffio surprised fans this week by announcing he will finally receive his high school diploma on Saturday. In an Instagram post, @maffio wrote: “Guess who’s getting his high school DIPLOMA on Saturday? ME!!!!!!!! 👨🎓 It’s never too late. THANK YOU TO THE PEOPLE THAT SUPPORTED ME ON THIS.” The image shows Maffio beaming in a cap and gown, diploma in hand.

Born Leandro “Maffio” Vázquez, the Miami-based artist has spent more than a decade writing and producing hits for Latin superstars like Ozuna, Nicky Jam and Justin Quiles. He has earned multiple BMI awards and a Latin Grammy nomination for his work behind the console. Despite headlining major festivals such as EDC Las Vegas alongside acts like Deorro and Thom Yorke, Maffio paused his formal education in pursuit of his musical ambitions.

Now that he’s checking this personal goal off the list, Maffio says he plans to continue exploring new creative avenues. He’ll spend the summer in the studio working on an upcoming EP and hopes his graduation story inspires others who paused their studies. “If I can do it, anyone can,” he told followers.
