Lukas Gage’s Memoir ‘I Wrote This For Attention’ Arrives in October
Actor taps early journals to trace rise from Euphoria sets to White Lotus major spotlight!
Taking Reader Back To His Roots
Lukas Gage is gearing up to share the pages of his early life with fans. In an exclusive feature for Flaunt magazine’s Issue 198, titled “Can’t Let Go,” the actor reveals that his forthcoming memoir, I Wrote This For Attention, will be published this October. The book draws directly from journals Gage kept as a kid, giving readers an unfiltered look at his formative years in Los Angeles.
Born and raised in LA, Gage wrote entries that captured his teenage headspace long before he ever stepped onto a major set. According to the post on Flaunt’s Instagram, “I Wrote This For Attention … utilizes journals from the actor’s childhood to interpret his rise to Hollywood’s most coveted sets of the 2020s.” Those notebooks chart everything from his earliest creative sparks to the challenges he faced chasing auditions.
From Journals To Breakout Roles
Gage’s career momentum began with a string of indie shorts and guest spots, but his breakthrough came in 2022 when he joined the cast of HBO Max’s award-winning drama Euphoria. He played Tyler, one of Rue’s classmates, and quickly became a fan favorite. Shortly afterward, he landed the role of Quentin in the second season of HBO’s Emmy-winning anthology series The White Lotus.
The Flaunt caption notes that Gage’s journals also frame his “relationship to fame,” which led him from Euphoria to White Lotus and into Prime Video’s summer comedy series Overcompensating. The upcoming show reunites him with his Euphoria co-star Sydney Sweeney in a scripted comedy about wealth, friendship and over-the-top hijinks.
A Stylish Spotlight In Flaunt
To mark the memoir announcement, Flaunt staged an on-set shoot with photographer M Rollie Ali. Styled by Chris Campbell, Gage wears looks from Ferragamo, Brunello Cucinelli, Montblanc and Sandro. The polished spread underscores how the actor has become a red-carpet regular—far from the diary scribbler he once was.
Writing for the feature is Tobias Fornow, while grooming was overseen by Nathaniel Dezan. The accompanying short film, directed by Jonathan Ho, offers additional behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot. Together, the images and video capture Gage at a pivotal moment: reflecting on his past as he prepares for a new creative chapter.
Pre-order And Release Details
Gage has already begun teasing the book on his own social channels. In a May post on Instagram, he wrote, “I wrote this book for attention! Pre order it now,” tagging Amazon Prime Books, Barnes & Noble, Simon & Schuster and Simon Books. Links to pre-order are live across major retailers.
According to publisher materials, I Wrote This For Attention will land in bookstores nationwide and online on October 10. Gage will embark on a limited tour of select cities, including Los Angeles, New York and London, with signings and Q&A sessions.
Fans eager to dive deeper can read the full interview and view the complete photo story on Flaunt.com. Whether you discovered him on screen or through social media, Gage’s memoir promises an honest chronicle of an actor’s journey from bedroom diaries to headline roles.
As the release date approaches, the industry—and Gage’s growing fanbase—will be watching to see how he transforms private reflections into a public narrative. I Wrote This For Attention isn’t just a celebrity memoir; it’s a time capsule of a young artist finding his voice in one of Hollywood’s most competitive eras.
