Tour Wrap-up

In an Instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/p/DLI7defh1bC/), Hailey wrote, “Thank you to all our moderators and venues that made each night incredibly unique and special. To everyone that came out: we loved meeting you and are deeply appreciative for the warm welcome you gave us in each of your cities. It was a perfect week and a dreamy way to celebrate our book release. Endless Gratitude and Happy Pride. Love us 👖.” The tour touched down in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Minneapolis, each event blending readings, audience Q&As and Pride-themed celebrations.

New York Times Best Seller Milestone

Prior to hitting the road, Hailey shared with fans that So Gay For You landed on the New York Times Best Seller list. In a separate Instagram announcement (https://www.instagram.com/p/DKx3yrDScZL/), she and co-author Kate Moennig celebrated the achievement as a win for their LGBTQIA+ community. That post featured signed copies and a message reading, “We want to share this with our LGBTQIA+ family. We did this together. With love, Leisha & Kate.”

Fan Highlights

Across each city, attendees gathered as Hailey and Moennig recounted stories from childhood, their experiences on The L Word, and the evolution of their friendship. Fans lined up for signed copies, Pride-themed merch and photos. In Chicago, a packed bookstore echoed with cheers when Hailey read an excerpt about growing up queer in a small town. In New York, attendees donned rainbow pins and shared how the memoir inspired them to embrace authenticity.

Behind The Scenes

Hailey credited local moderators—many of whom are LGBTQ+ activists—for crafting thoughtful questions that drove candid conversations. “Our moderators brought the right energy,” she noted. “They made every discussion feel both intimate and celebratory.” Between readings, Hailey posted Stories showing colorful Pride banners, fan art and snapshots of post-event gatherings at neighborhood cafés.

Pride And Community

Aligned with Pride Month, each stop felt like a mini festival. In Minneapolis, a panel discussion on found family prompted Hailey to highlight her wife, keyboardist Camila Grey, and the couple’s charity work. Philadelphia’s venue partnered with a local LGBTQ youth center, donating a portion of ticket sales. These collaborations underscored the tour’s broader mission: giving back to the community that inspired the book.

Looking Ahead

With the tour complete, Hailey plans to continue appearances at Pride festivals and literary events nationwide. Signed copies of So Gay For You remain available at Barnes & Noble and select indie bookstores. Fans can also catch Hailey on the Here to Make Friends podcast, where she and Moennig discuss memoir takeaways and the pressure of coming out.

Hailey’s gratitude post closes by saying, “Endless gratitude and happy Pride.” Her message makes clear that the book—and the tour—are as much about celebrating shared experiences as they are about personal milestones.
