Meet Elettrodomestico
Elettrodomestico is an electronic pop trio that brings together Wiedlin’s punk-inflected roots and modern synth textures. Travis Kasper, a producer and multi-instrumentalist, teams up with Italian musician Pietro Straccia to craft the duo’s signature sound—blending retro drum machines with catchy hooks and Wiedlin’s unmistakable vocals. “Just Like My Dog” marks their latest single, and this contest aims to crowdsource the music video’s playful spirit from the ground up.
Though this is Wiedlin’s first fan-sourced video project, Elettrodomestico has already earned praise for its fresh take on indie-pop. Building on the legacy of The Go-Go’s—whose hits like “We Got the Beat” and “Our Lips Are Sealed” defined early ’80s new wave—this project underscores Wiedlin’s knack for reinvention.
About Jane Wiedlin
Jane Marie Wiedlin (born May 20, 1958) gained fame as the rhythm guitarist and co-lead vocalist of The Go-Go’s, the first all-female band to write and perform their own material and top the Billboard album chart. After the group’s initial run, she pursued solo projects, writing the UK top-20 hit “Rush Hour” and scoring soundtrack credits. Beyond music, Wiedlin has appeared in films such as Night of the Comet (1984) and TV series from Star Trek: The Next Generation to New Wave Theatre.
Her career has always blended creativity with community. Whether fronting sold-out arenas in the ’80s or scoring indie film soundtracks, Wiedlin channels a DIY ethic. This latest contest taps into that ethos—inviting everyday pet owners to co-create content with a music icon.
Participants have until June 30 to submit their entries via Instagram. Fans are encouraged to let their imaginations run wild—whether it’s matching outfits, synchronized howls, or a side-by-side portrait that proves owners and dogs can share more than just a walk around the block.
Ready to prove you’re a kindred spirit to your canine companion? Fetch your camera, involve your four-legged friend, and join Wiedlin’s “Just Like My Dog” party.
