A Warm Welcome In Altoona
Jackson Rathbone landed in Altoona, Pennsylvania, this weekend for SciFi Valley Con and left with nothing but praise for the crowd. In an Instagram post (https://www.instagram.com/p/DK8gBhZxDRF/), the Twilight alum wrote, “Thank you Altoona, PA !! You guys were wonderful, kind and hilarious. So many folks from all over, with so much love and heart and passion and TALENT! I met artists and reporters and actors and even a taxidermist!”
Between signings and Q&A panels, Rathbone spotted familiar faces—and some unexpected ones. He gave a special shout-out to his friends Taylor, Alex and Nicole: “Without you three I would’ve died… not really… but I might have been bored, definitely hungry and never caffeinated enough. Y’all rock.” The actor closed his caption with playful sincerity: “God bless all of you! Thanks for the gifts! Much love and battle scars, jackson ✌️♥️🍔.”
Convention Circuits And Cameos
Rathbone’s SciFi Valley stop is just one chapter in his busy con calendar. Last month, he toured Fan Expo Philadelphia and thanked those fans for cheesesteaks and stories. In a post (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ0IIyCRcKb/) he gushed, “Thank you Philadelphia!!! Much love to all of you—thanks for your gifts, your time, your stories, your openness, and your willingness to engage with a weird bow-legged Texan like me. Y’all are the sweetest.”
He also reunited with fellow creators at EpicCons in recent weeks. “Reunited and it feels so gooooood!!” he wrote on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/DKm8aLoRNke/), sharing a behind-the-scenes snapshot with fans and fellow guests. Whether he’s autographing posters or critiquing local burger joints, Rathbone treats each convention as a chance to connect.
Beyond Twilight: Actor, Musician, Creator
Jackson Rathbone first rose to fame as Jasper Hale in the Twilight saga. Since then, his résumé has branched into film, television and music. A 2008 graduate of Los Angeles’s American Conservatory Theater, he’s appeared in The Last Airbender, Back to the Future documentaries and more.
Music runs just as deep. Rathbone co-founded the rock group 100 Monkeys and later launched Neptune, blending soulful vocals with indie instrumentation. He often teases recording sessions on social media and collaborates with local artists when on tour.
While the Altoona event focused on fan panels and photo ops, Rathbone also hosted a meet-and-greet for emerging illustrators and writers. His Instagram carousel shows sketches, self-published zines and snapshots with a taxidermy display—proof that his interests span the fantastical and the unexpected.
What’s Next For Jackson Rathbone
With conventions lined up across the U.S., Rathbone shows no signs of slowing down. Rumors hint at a new indie film in pre-production and more music releases slated for later this year. Fans can follow his official Instagram (@jacksonrathbone) for updates on upcoming appearances and creative projects.
From Altoona’s lively crowd to Philadelphia’s cheesesteak cheers, Rathbone’s sincerity and humor keep fans coming back. As he put it, “I loved every second,” and sci-fi devotees nationwide are already marking their calendars for round two.
Jackson Rathbone continues to bridge screens, stages and conventions with the same warmth that’s won him legions of loyal followers. Altoona was just the latest stop in a journey that shows no sign of slowing.
