A New Editorial Turn
At this year’s Tribeca Festival, rising actor Jack Champion stepped into the spotlight for ANTHEM magazine. Shot by photographer Matthew Cylinder against Manhattan’s festival backdrop, the spread captures Champion’s transition from Pandora’s wilds to red-carpet polish. In a sleek tailored suit offset by bold accessories, he balances off-duty ease with high-fashion flair.

Champion, 20, is best known for playing young Spider in Avatar: The Way of Water. But for this editorial, he traded Na’vi blue for clean lines and neutral tones—proof that his star power extends beyond sci-fi epics. ANTHEM’s styling team dressed him in pieces by emerging designers, layering sharp cuts with a hint of streetwear edge. Cylinder’s lens plays up Champion’s relaxed confidence, framing him in both close-up portraits and full-length shots that shine under festival lights.
From Pandora To Manhattan
Born November 10, 2004, in Rochester, New York, Champion made his feature debut in Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). He joined veteran cast members Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldaña as Spider, a human–Na’vi hybrid thrust into family drama under the sea. His performance earned praise for emotional depth and physical commitment.
Before the ANTHEM shoot, Champion reunited with his fellow Pandora co-stars for Empire magazine. Last April, he joined Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss and Bailey Bass in a cover story titled “The children of Pandora are growing up.” The group discussed the next generation of Na’vi—both on and off screen—as filmmakers gear up for Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Beyond Avatar, Champion appeared in the slasher sequel Scream VI (2023), proving his range extends into horror. In interviews, he’s cited a love for genre-blending roles and a hunger to explore characters far from his Pandora origins. He’s represented by WME and continues to balance franchise heavyweights with smaller indie projects.
Looking Ahead To Pandora’s Future
Champion’s ANTHEM cover also comes with a reminder: Pandora’s next chapters are on the horizon. Director James Cameron has slated Avatar: Fire and Ash for December 19, 2025, followed by sequels in 2029 and 2031. As the Na’vi saga expands, Champion is expected to return as Spider, front and center in the evolving human-alien conflict.
On the Tribeca red carpet, he hinted at what’s to come: “These films are a once-in-a-lifetime journey,” he told ANTHEM. “I’ve grown up with these characters. It’s exciting to see where the story goes next.” His comments echo earlier reports that production on Avatar 4 will begin shortly after Fire and Ash wraps, with a focus on new regions of Pandora.
Champion’s Tribeca appearance also underlines his growing industry clout. At just 20, he’s walked major festival carpets, fronted high-end shoots and earned critical nods in blockbuster franchises. For fans, his ANTHEM editorial offers a glimpse of the actor beyond the CGI world—stylish, self-aware and already thinking ahead.
As the credits rolled on this year’s Tribeca Festival, Jack Champion’s profile shoot closed one chapter and opened another. From underwater Na’vi drama to downtown photo sessions, he’s charted a course few performers navigate so early in their careers. And with three more Avatar installments on deck, the journey has only just begun.
