A Vision Takes Flight
After three years of planning, prayer and perseverance, restaurateurs David Dyer and Allison Davis-Dyer officially launched Franklin Social last weekend. Nestled just off Main Street in historic Franklin, Tennessee, the venue is a marriage of bar, workspace and event hub designed to fuel creative collaboration. “Their mission — to impact culture through intentional connectivity, radical hospitality, and selfless generosity,” Broadway star Laura Osnes wrote in a celebratory post praising her longtime friends’ journey.
A Night On The Terrace
Under a cloudless June sky, guests ascended to the expansive terrace for the Grand Opening, where signature cocktails and curated playlists kept the energy high. A long communal table ran the length of the space, its Edison-bulb canopy casting a warm glow as friends, neighbors and local entrepreneurs mingled.

Dyer and Davis-Dyer welcomed everyone with gratitude. “What a glorious night — Huge congrats, Dave & Allison, their partner Baron, and the exceptional FS staff,” Osnes wrote, acknowledging every hurdle the team overcame. As the first toasts rang out, speeches highlighted the venue’s roots in faith and friendship, setting the tone for many gatherings to come.
Community At Its Core
Franklin Social isn’t just a bar: it’s a community hub. In April, the couple hosted a series of springtime happy hours on the terrace, tying into local events like the Nashville Comic Arts Festival and film premieres. “Highlights in APRIL included far more flowers than showers! Between @ncazaleafest, @weloveawards, film premieres, and happy hours at @franklinsocialtn rooftop, it seems spring is already in full bloom!” the venue’s Instagram recap read.

That same spirit drove the Grand Opening, with live acoustic sets and regional craft beers on tap. Attendees praised the blend of laid-back comfort and upscale touches — reclaimed-wood accents, plush seating and menu options ranging from small plates to elevated bar snacks.
Star-studded Cheers
Broadway veteran Laura Osnes — Tony Award nominee for her performances in Cinderella and Grease — joined the festivities alongside friends from Nashville’s arts and sports scenes. Osnes recently lent her voice to the national anthem at a Nashville SC match at Geodis Park, further cementing her connection to the city’s cultural life.
“It’s a true inspiration,” she noted, raising her glass to Dyer and Davis-Dyer. Several local influencers, municipal leaders and creative collaborators circled the room, each eager to support a venue built on relationships rather than transactions.
Nightcap conversations drifted toward future events: book launches, pop-up dinners, writer’s workshops and more. With private-booking options and flexible layouts, Franklin Social is poised to host everything from corporate mixers to film screenings, all under one open sky.
Three years in the making, Franklin Social’s rooftop bar has already become a beacon for Franklin’s downtown revival. David, Allison and their team have created more than a gathering spot — they’ve laid a foundation for ongoing connection, hospitality and shared creativity. Here’s to the first of many evenings where ideas spark, friendships deepen and the community thrives.
