Setting The Scene

In the first image, Carden stands beneath towering palm trees in a crisp white linen jumpsuit from The Line by K, complete with a woven belt and gold hoop earrings. A designer straw hat shades her face, hinting at long days spent basking in the sun. The next snap shows her reclining on a pool lounger, cocktail in hand, toes dipped into turquoise water. In the final mirror selfie, she sports oversized tortoise-shell sunglasses and a relaxed smile, the glass reflecting a glimpse of desert mountains in the distance.

What To Expect At Five Star Weekend

Founded in 2020 by lifestyle curator Morgan Harris, Five Star Weekend has quickly become a must-attend retreat for luxury enthusiasts. This year’s edition returns to La Quinta Resort & Club in California’s Coachella Valley from May 3–6. Now in its fourth year, the event promises sunrise yoga led by top instructors, spa treatments by A-list beauty brands, and interactive panels with guest speakers from film, fashion and tech. Michelin-trained chefs oversee multi-course dinners under the stars. Attendees can browse pop-up shops featuring sustainable swimwear, join meditation sessions overlooking the Santa Rosa Mountains, and toast signature cocktail creations by award-winning mixologists.

The historic La Quinta Resort, a favorite Hollywood hideaway since the 1920s, provides a backdrop of adobe casitas and lush gardens. Last year’s guest list included Golden Globe winner Rachel Brosnahan and digital creator Aimee Song, raising anticipation for this year’s lineup. Organizers tease surprise appearances throughout the weekend, and Carden’s early reveal suggests more celebrity faces may be on the docket.

A Well-deserved Break

A California native, Carden grew up in Danville and earned her MFA from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, honing her improv skills with The Second City in Chicago and The Groundlings in Los Angeles. Her hard-earned comedic chops led to a breakout turn as Janet on NBC’s The Good Place, earning her a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.

Since then, she’s taken on leading roles in Amazon’s A League of Their Own and Hulu’s hit comedy series Adults. Earlier this year, Carden gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at Adults, which debuted in January on the streaming service:

She wrote, “Have you watched Adults yet? One little day on set, and yet, fell in love with every single person… The show is so truly funny, and the chemistry of this cast is nut.”

Looking ahead, Carden is slated to star in Roger Ross Williams’ upcoming feature film Cassandro, reuniting her with former The Good Place director Laura Terruso when it begins production this summer.

Fan Reactions And Style Notes

Within hours of her Instagram reveal, followers showered her with heart-eye emojis and questions about her itinerary. “Can we tag along? 😂❤️” one comment read, while another user quipped, “This is my dream vacay.” Fashion insiders took note of her resort-ready look, with @ChicResortStyle praising the jumpsuit as a “must-have for sunny escapes.”

For those planning to attend, coordinators suggest booking spa appointments early and arriving by late afternoon on day one to catch the opening ceremony at the resort’s amphitheater. Poppy deco lounges and fire pits offer plenty of photo ops—a feature Carden will likely lean into once she arrives.

Her attendance marks a growing trend of A-list talent embracing destination-based wellness experiences. Whether she’s deepening her yoga practice or indulging in a poolside panel, this Five Star Weekend will be the perfect counterpoint to her busy filming schedule.

As May approaches, the buzz is building: D’Arcy Carden may be excited now, but by the time the silken morning light hits the desert horizon, she and her fellow attendees will be basking in a retreat worthy of a five-star star. Wait—is that too many stars? Either way, this weekend getaway is set to shine.
