A Creative Spring Send-off

Coloured Art Studio is closing out its 2025 Spring session with an outdoor celebration for the whole family. Known for hands-on classes that encourage both aspiring young artists and seasoned painters, the studio is inviting students, siblings, cousins—even that “cool auntie”—to join its Art in the Park party.

In an Instagram announcement, the team wrote, “we are wrapping up our 2025 Spring session! We have had so much fun and have created so much work, thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts for making such an enjoyable experience for all of us – teachers & students 🎨.” The post featured photos of small groups clustered around easels in a sunlit green space, brushes in hand and palettes at the ready.

What To Expect

Attendees can look forward to a series of guided art activities designed for all ages and skill levels. From finger-painting stations for toddlers to watercolor challenges for teens and adults, the event aims to be a true creative picnic:
• Family canvas painting led by studio instructors
• Interactive sidewalk chalk murals for kids
• DIY clay modeling and mini sculpture projects
• Classic park games like sack races and ring toss
• A snack table stocked with fruit cups, popcorn, and lemonade

Each area is set up to spark collaboration—so parents can roll up their sleeves alongside their children, and older siblings can mentor younger ones in simple color-mixing techniques.

Tickets And Registration

This is a ticketed event, with all proceeds helping fund summer scholarships and future community outreach programs. Interested guests should visit the Coloured Art Studio page on Eventbrite (link in bio) to reserve seats. Early-bird pricing runs through the first week of June, and a limited number of “pay what you can” passes are available for families in need.

Organizers advise arriving 15 minutes early to check in and grab your welcome kit, which includes a personalized name tag, a smock, and a mini easel to take home. Seating is on a first-come, first-serve blanket basis, so guests are welcome to bring picnic blankets or lawn chairs for extra comfort.

Behind The Canvas

Founded in 2023 by local art educator Maya Thompson, Coloured Art Studio operates a 2,500-square-foot loft space in the city’s arts district. Since its launch, the studio has offered weekly courses in acrylics, mixed media, and digital painting, serving more than 200 students each term. Its mission is to make art accessible and to foster a neighborhood where creativity thrives across generations.

“Art isn’t just about the final piece,” Thompson said in a recent interview. “It’s about the process—about connection, expression, and community. We wanted a way to bring that studio environment into the sunshine and let people experience art as a shared picnic.”

Can’t-miss Community Moment

This event follows a string of successful pop-up workshops the studio hosted in local parks throughout March and April. Social media highlights showed families painting al fresco during weekend markets, with dozens of community members tagging @colouredartstudio in their posts. The final Spring session wrap-up is both a thank-you to loyal students and an open door to newcomers curious about picking up a paintbrush.

Whether it’s a toddler’s first brush stroke or an adult’s bold experiment in abstract form, the Art in the Park party promises a creative send-off to the season and a glimpse of what’s to come this summer.

Join the celebration, pick up a palette, and make some memories under the open sky. Grab your ticket today and prepare for a burst of color, community, and fun.
