A Nostalgic Instagram Throwback

Breckin Meyer, who played Travis Birkenstock in Amy Heckerling’s 1995 hit Clueless, turned to Instagram this week to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary. He posted a behind-the-scenes group shot featuring his co-stars and captioned it exactly as he remembered them: “Zero Clue w/ the Whatever girl, a Virgin who can’t drive, Wonder Woman of Wardrobe, The Boss & a sk8r boi. 30 years later…”

In that single line, Meyer nods to each on-screen persona. “Whatever girl” is Stacey Dash’s Dionne, the “Virgin who can’t drive” points to Alicia Silverstone’s Cher Horowitz, “Wonder Woman of Wardrobe” calls out Brittany Murphy’s Tai, “The Boss” refers to Donald Faison’s Murray, and the “sk8r boi” is Meyer himself—frozen in time with his signature laid-back style.

Clueless At 30: A Lasting Influence

Clueless premiered on July 19, 1995, and quickly became a cultural touchstone. Beyond its status as a teen comedy, it influenced fashion (plaid skirts, knee-high socks) and vocabulary (“as if!”). The film grossed over $56 million domestically and launched multiple careers—from Silverstone’s defining role to Paul Rudd’s breakout as Josh.

Meyer’s Career Since Clueless

After playing the sun-loving skateboarder Travis, Meyer went on to star in movies like Road Trip (2000) and Rat Race (2001). He’s also lent his voice to Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken and appeared in hit TV series including Franklin & Bash. On his Wikipedia page, Meyer is credited with more than 60 acting roles across film and television since 1995.

Marking Earlier Milestones

This isn’t Meyer’s first anniversary salute. In October 2020, he shared another throwback on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJ5fQsLJjeC/), simply captioned “25 years ago…,” featuring a candid snapshot from the Clueless set. Fans flocked to the comments to gush over the nostalgia and ask for more reunion moments.

As the Clueless cast commemorates three decades since their Beverly Hills debut, Meyer’s post offers a warm reminder of the film’s enduring charm—and a glimpse at the friendships that have lasted well beyond the final credits.
