Claudia Jordan Joins Juneteenth Fun Run In Dallas

TV star Claudia Jordan laced up her sneakers for the Juneteenth 5K and 1-mile fun run at Main Street Garden Park in downtown Dallas on June 19. Organized by local running group @runitup_dallas, the event brought hundreds of fitness enthusiasts, history buffs and families to commemorate the federal holiday honoring the end of slavery in the United States. “I just ran the 1 mile and now I’m about to walk/run the 3.1 mile. Pray for me!” Jordan shared to her 1.5 million Instagram followers before setting off.

Participants gathered before sunrise, grabbing water bottles and commemorative race bibs stamped with Juneteenth graphics. A blow-up arch marked the start line, accompanied by live DJ sets playing a mix of R&B and motivational beats. Jordan, known for her roles on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and Celebrity Apprentice, wore a lightweight tank, performance shorts and neon trainers—opting for comfort over couture.

The morning lineup featured a brief address from a local historian, who read excerpts from the Emancipation Proclamation, followed by a moment of silence. Once the horn sounded, Jordan sprinted ahead in the 1-mile dash, finishing with a time she jokingly called “not bad for a TV girl.” Unphased by the cheers, she grabbed a banana and refueled before rejoining friends and pacing herself for the full 5K (3.1 miles).

Supporting Juneteenth Awareness

Runitup Dallas founder Marcus Johnson designed the run to educate participants on Juneteenth’s roots dating back to 1865 in Galveston, Texas. Johnson told reporters that proceeds from registration supported local nonprofits focused on Black education. Jordan applauded the initiative during a post-race interview: “This isn’t just a run—it’s a chance to remember and move forward together. It’s an honor to be part of something bigger.”

Registered runners received colorful medals and limited-edition T-shirts. Vendors lined the park’s perimeter, serving smoothies, coffee and community resources. Jordan paused for photos at the hydration station, high-fiving youngsters and signing hats. She later posted an image of her medal to Instagram, captioning it: “Earning this Juneteenth medal felt like a real victory.”

Balancing Fitness With Film Promotions

Jordan’s participation underscores her commitment to health and wellness. A former Miss Rhode Island Teen USA (1991) turned model and television host, she often shares workout updates on Instagram. “Running resets my mind for the week ahead,” she says, using fitness to navigate her busy schedule.

Between training sessions and press junkets, Jordan has been promoting her upcoming sci-fi thriller RUN, which hits theaters on August 29. In mid-June, she teased the film in a series of posts: “Introducing Jenny, played by @claudiajordan in the new sci-fi thriller RUN. Only in theaters 8/29 🍿 #RunOfficialMovie #RunTheMovie.”

From Reality Tv To Community Advocate

Born in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1973, Claudia Jordan first gained fame as a model before transitioning into television and radio. She appeared on Deal or No Deal and The Price Is Right, joined The Real Housewives of Atlanta in 2009, and competed on Celebrity Apprentice 5. She now hosts Fox Soul’s weekly entertainment segment, interviewing A-list stars and covering major events like the BET Awards.

Fans Rally Behind The Star

Jordan’s participation in grassroots events like the Juneteenth run underscores her hands-on approach to community engagement. After crossing the finish line, she shared a video on Instagram Stories of fans chanting her name. “Your support means the world,” she told attendees. Social media buzzed with clips of Jordan leading warm-up stretches, while local news outlets featured interviews praising her enthusiasm.

Looking ahead, Jordan plans to return next year as a charity ambassador, helping to recruit participants and highlight educational panels on Black history. “I want to do more than show up,” she said. “I want to push for change, inspire people to learn, and take action.”

Blending star power with genuine grassroots involvement, Claudia Jordan demonstrated that sneakers truly trump stilettos when it comes to making a statement. As RUN nears its release and summer events heat up, she’ll be ready—heart racing, medal in hand, and community on her mind.
