Actress Christine Lakin has treated her Instagram followers to a stunning visual feast of one of America’s most photographed natural wonders. The former “Step by Step” star shared a captivating carousel of images from her visit to Antelope Canyon in Arizona and St. George, Utah.

A Natural Masterpiece Captured
The series of 20 photographs showcases the mesmerizing sandstone formations of Antelope Canyon, known for its wave-like structures and magical light beams. Lakin’s images beautifully capture the canyon’s distinctive flowing shapes and the play of light and shadow that makes this slot canyon famous worldwide.
The photos reveal the dramatic curved walls of the canyon, displaying rich orange, red and purple hues that seem to change with every angle. Several images highlight the canyon’s narrow passages where sunlight filters through cracks in the ceiling, creating ethereal beams that photographers travel from around the world to capture.
The Geological Wonder
Antelope Canyon is located on Navajo land near Page, Arizona, and is one of the most photographed slot canyons in the world. The canyon was formed by erosion of Navajo sandstone, primarily due to flash flooding. Over time, rainwater, especially during monsoon season, has picked up speed and sand while rushing through the narrow passageways, smoothing and carving out the distinctive curves the canyon is famous for.
Visitors typically need to book guided tours to access the canyon, as it’s only accessible with Navajo guides. The canyon is divided into two separate sections – Upper Antelope Canyon (known as “The Crack”) and Lower Antelope Canyon (known as “The Corkscrew”).
Lakin’s Ongoing Adventures
Lakin first gained fame playing Alicia “Al” Lambert on the 90s sitcom “Step by Step.” Since then, she’s maintained a diverse career in entertainment as an actress, director, and choreographer. In late 2023, she launched a new professional website highlighting her directing and choreography work alongside her acting credentials. She has also worked on “The Hottie and the Nottie” with Paris Hilton and makes regular appearances on various shows and podcasts.
This isn’t the first time Lakin has shared her love for natural beauty and travel with fans. Earlier this spring, the actress posted photos from a trip to Napa Valley, describing it as a “turquoise deep dive” with some of her “favorite women.”
When not exploring natural wonders, Lakin stays busy with her podcast “Keanan and Lakin,” which she co-hosts with fellow “Step by Step” alum Stacy Keanan. The podcast recently wrapped its second season, with Lakin announcing that Season 3 would debut in June “with more guests and more surprises in store.”
