The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter posted on Instagram, “Awesome and humbling time today in North Carolina, honoring our Nations Heroes. I was honored to perform & be part of such a wonderful community.” The event, organized by @helpingahero and @theleegreenwood, invited recipients of veteran grants and their loved ones to enjoy free access to the Bass Pro Shops Shooting Academy and special fishing clinics.

Janson, whose hits include “Buy Me a Boat” and “Drunk Girl,” added star power to the lineup alongside Greenwood, the voice behind “God Bless the USA.” Guests watched as the duo exchanged salutes, then launched into a spirited rendition of patriotic favorites before Janson closed with his own chart-toppers.

Music And Community Take Center Stage

In addition to raising the roof with his own catalogue, the country star teased his upcoming single “This Flag,” sharing in a recent Instagram post: “Get ready to STAND UP and turn it up! ‘This Flag’ song and music video out Friday 🇺🇸 Pre-save at the link in my bio. 1/2.” The track’s message of pride and unity resonated deeply amid a crowd of service members and their families.

“I write songs that speak to everyday experiences,” Janson told reporters after his set. “Today, it was about giving back to folks who’ve given so much for our country.” Volunteers from @bassproshops helped distribute care packages, while nonprofit ambassadors guided veterans through adaptive sports demonstrations.

A Star-studded Lineup

NASCAR champion Austin Dillon (@austindillon3) and RCR Racing’s Johnny Joey (@johnny_joey, @rcrracing) joined hands with Janson and Greenwood to present awards to honorees. Dillon shared, “It’s an honor to see these heroes get the recognition they deserve. We’re all in this together.” Joey, a retired firefighter turned racer, recounted how Helping A Hero’s support grants allowed him to equip his department’s training center.

Volunteers led a charity auction for a donor-funded rifle raffle, raising thousands for trauma recovery programs. Bass Pro Shops regional director Kelly Stewart said the partnership “fuses outdoor passion with patriotism,” noting that hundreds of event attendees signed up on the spot to receive veteran support services.

Janson’s work with the nonprofit dovetails with his upcoming summer album, set to feature several tracks inspired by service stories he’s heard on the road. For now, the North Carolina event stands as a testament to what happens when musicians, motorsports icons and fans unite for a cause bigger than any solo performance.
