In an Instagram post, Preston wrote: “So inspiring to participate in the 2025 @michaeljfoxorg #UnityWalk with my sister Leslie. This incredible organization exists to eliminate #ParkinsonsDisease in our lifetime. Learn more and support this work at michaeljfox.org #TeamFox ❤️”

The post included several photos of Preston and her sister at the event, smiling while wearing Unity Walk sweatshirts. The images capture the sisters walking together and participating in what appears to be one of the largest gatherings of the Parkinson’s community.

This isn’t Preston’s first show of support for the Michael J. Fox Foundation. In a previous Instagram post from earlier this month, she had announced her intention to join the walk, writing: “I’m honored to be joining the @michaeljfoxorg 2025 Parkinson’s Unity Walk — one of the largest gatherings of the Parkinson’s community — to walk in support of everyone impacted by this disease.”

In that earlier announcement, Preston also highlighted the fundraising aspect of the event: “Every dollar you donate will be matched up to $1.5 million, doubling the impact of your gift! 100% of your donation goes directly to funding critical Parkinson’s research and public policy initiatives, bringing us closer to a world without Parkinson’s.”

The Unity Walk takes place in New York City’s Central Park and is both a tribute to those affected by Parkinson’s and a commitment to advancing research for the disease.

Carrie Preston is widely recognized for her work as an actress, director, and producer. Most recently, she’s been starring in the CBS series “Elsbeth,” a spinoff of “The Good Wife” in which she reprises her Emmy-winning role as the quirky but brilliant attorney Elsbeth Tascioni.

While Preston hasn’t publicly shared if she has a personal connection to Parkinson’s Disease, her dedication to the cause is evident in her participation and advocacy for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research was founded by actor Michael J. Fox in 2000 after his diagnosis. The foundation has since become the largest nonprofit funder of Parkinson’s disease research in the world, committed to accelerating a cure and developing improved therapies for those living with the disease.

The Unity Walk represents one of the foundation’s major community events, bringing together thousands of supporters each year. The walk not only raises funds, but also increases awareness about Parkinson’s Disease and creates a supportive community for those affected.
