Candice King Praises NYC Stay at The Dominick Hotel

Vampire Diaries alum unwinds with SoHo skyline views after chic PR-backed weeklong getaway

By Reshmi Das

Candice King, best known to fans as Caroline Forbes on the long-running hit series The Vampire Diaries, recently traded Mystic Falls storylines for the iconic skyline of New York City. She wrapped up a weeklong stay in SoHo that left her feeling “right at home,” posting a string of scenic snaps to her Instagram feed. In her June post, King singled out The Dominick Hotel and her PR team for making the trip extra-special, writing, “Had such a lovely week feeling right at home in New York City thanks to the @thedominickhotel @circlepr ♥️ Can’t wait to go back!” (https://www.instagram.com/p/DLEtn2WOBqp/)

A Home Away From Home

King’s Instagram carousel included a cozy corner suite bathed in natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows framing a busy Prince Street below, and a rooftop hideaway where she caught the city’s golden-hour glow. In one shot, the SoHo skyline stretched behind her as she sipped coffee on a plush lounge chair. In another, the hotel’s signature marble bar stood ready for early-evening cocktails.

From Caroline Forbes To City Lights

A graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in journalism, King first broke out as an actress playing Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries from 2009 to 2017. According to her Wikipedia profile, she reprised the role in spinoff The Originals and went on to appear in shows like Stranger Things and One Tree Hill before taking a creative pause to focus on family and music.

Dominick Hotel Delights

Opened in 2018, The Dominick Hotel occupies a glass tower in SoHo and boasts 391 guestrooms and suites, a rooftop pool, and views across Lower Manhattan. Guests praise the Italian-designed spa, the Michelin-level Leuca restaurant, and curated art installations throughout the lobby. King’s post tags @thedominickhotel, highlighting how the property’s blend of modern design and personal touches helped her unwind after a busy spring of press calls and auditions.

Circle Pr Partnership

King’s shout-out also included @circlepr, the agency behind much of her New York engagements this year. Circle PR has worked with actors, authors, and creatives on campaigns that range from book launches to film premieres. Thanks to their coordination, King was able to schedule press interviews, hotel check-ins, and city explorations all in one efficient itinerary.

We Were Liars Premiere

Just weeks before her SoHo retreat, King returned to New York for the premiere of her new series We Were Liars at the Tribeca Film Festival. In an April Instagram post, she offered a behind-the-scenes look at her red-carpet prep and reminded fans that the Prime Video adaptation of E. Lockhart’s bestseller streams June 18. That outing marked her first high-profile return to television since stepping away from screen roles last year.

As King’s fans wait for her next on-screen appearance, the actress has already hinted she won’t stay away from New York for long. Between SoHo sunsets and Tribeca nights, it seems the city has earned itself a permanent spot on her itinerary—and a real home away from home.
