Poison frontman Bret Michaels took to Instagram to celebrate Take Your Kids To Work Day with a heartfelt tribute to his daughters, revealing how they continue to inspire his work whether they’re physically present or not.
The rock icon shared a photo of himself looking thoughtful while wearing his signature bandana, alongside a message that gives fans a glimpse into how his role as a father influences his creative process.
“Today is Take Your Kids To Work Day 📅️ In my heart, body and soul, I feel my kids are always traveling with me on an adventure, whether on the road or at home and, even if they are not there in person, they inspire my work. Raine and Jorja, you are loved!” Michaels wrote in his caption.
The Daughters Behind The Rock Star
Raine and Jorja Michaels are Bret’s daughters with his former partner Kristi Gibson. Though Michaels often keeps his family life relatively private compared to his public persona, his social media occasionally offers glimpses into his role as a dedicated father.
Raine, his older daughter, has pursued modeling and even competed on Sports Illustrated’s Swim Search in 2019. Jorja, his younger daughter, has joined her father at various public events through the years.
Michaels’ post highlights how his daughters remain a constant source of inspiration for his music and career, even when touring schedules and professional commitments keep them physically apart.
Balancing Rock Stardom And Fatherhood
Despite his decades-long career as one of rock’s most recognizable frontmen, Michaels has consistently spoken about the importance of family. The musician, who rose to fame in the 1980s as the lead vocalist of Poison, has managed to balance his rock star lifestyle with being present for his daughters.
In previous interviews, Michaels has discussed how becoming a father changed his perspective and priorities. The singer, who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age six, has also been open about wanting to stay healthy for his children.
Recent Professional Endeavors
Michaels remains active in both music and entertainment. His recent Instagram activity shows he’s been busy with various projects, including appearing on Rick Harrison’s podcast “Pawn After Dark” alongside Chumlee from Pawn Stars. The episode featured discussions about music, wild tour stories, and coincided with Harrison’s 60th birthday celebration.
The rock star has also been promoting upcoming performances, including a June 14 show at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Pennsylvania, where he’ll be performing alongside Night Ranger and Quiet Riot.
Additionally, Michaels recently made a playful appearance on “The Masked Singer,” where he correctly guessed that his friend Edwin McCain was behind the “Nessy Mask” on the show.
Rock The Tides Festival
The “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” singer is also gearing up for the Rock the Tides festival, for which presale tickets recently went live. The event promises three days of performances at a luxury resort, featuring all-inclusive packages with unlimited food and drink.
Michaels promoted the festival on social media, encouraging fans to use the code “PARTY” to access exclusive packages that include luxury resort accommodations, unlimited food and drink (including alcohol), and round-trip airport transportation.
Personal Philosophy
In a recent #MotivationMonday post, Michaels shared insights into his life philosophy, discussing how his early diagnosis of diabetes at age six taught him resilience. “I learned very early on, especially being a six-year-old diabetic, that I was never going to completely fit in, so I immediately chose to stand up, stand out, rock on and remain unbroken,” he wrote.
He continued: “I knew I’d have to give 100% and only gain 50% and, although I would have to work harder, I accepted that. I surrounded myself with great family & friends who remain loyal to this day.”
This perspective on overcoming adversity appears to inform his approach to both parenting and his professional life, highlighting how his early challenges helped shape his character and determination.
From his musical endeavors to his television appearances and role as a father, Bret Michaels continues to embody his “remain unbroken” philosophy while keeping his daughters central to his life’s inspiration.
