Musician Ben Wells marked National Rescue Dog Day on May 20 by shining a spotlight on the two beagles he rescued as puppies. Clark joined the family in 2016 and Sunny Pearl in 2022, both adopted from the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society (@brawashelter). In an Instagram post, Wells called them “angel dogs” and urged fans to consider rescuing their next pet.
Rescue Beagles Clark And Sunny Pearl
In photos shared on his feed, Clark and Sunny Pearl lounge together, collars swapped for matching bandanas. Wells wrote, “National Rescue Dog Day!! Our sweet Clark and Sunny Pearl are two of our three beagles and were rescued as puppies in 2016 and 2022 from @brawashelter! We absolutely LOVE our trio of angel dogs 🐶 and highly recommend rescuing!” He’s set an example by opening his home and heart to animals in need.
A Foundation For Furry Friends
The musician’s passion for rescue work extends beyond his living room. Clark – alongside another family dog, Henry – inspired The Henry and Clark Foundation (@thehenryandclarkfoundation), which raises funds for spay/neuter programs and local shelters. According to the foundation’s mission statement, proceeds support medical care, foster networks, and community outreach to reduce pet overpopulation.
Sunny Pearl’s Stylish Side Hustle
Sunny Pearl stars in more than family snapshots. Wells also launched an apparel line, Sunny and Stoked Official (@sunnyandstokedofficial), featuring dog-themed tees, totes, and hats. In a recent Instagram story, a local car wash highlighted Sunny’s brand in its small business spotlight, showcasing a poster designed by Wells himself.
Beyond fashion, Sunny Pearl is the heroine of Wells’s children’s book, Good Girl, Sunny Pearl! The duo travels to elementary schools, reading to first graders and encouraging kindness to animals. One post from Park City Elementary School shows Wells holding the book while Sunny delights students.
With his trio of beagles, a foundation in their name, a children’s book, and an apparel brand, Ben Wells uses National Rescue Dog Day to champion pet adoption and animal welfare. His message is clear: rescuing a dog can change lives – for the dog, the owner, and the community at large.
