Overview
Voice superstars Grey DeLisle and Janet Varney are set to bring the world of Avatar to Atlanta from July 18 to 20. Best known as the voices behind Princess Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender (DeLisle) and Korra in The Legend of Korra (Varney), the pair will host exclusive panels, autograph sessions, and photo ops at the Georgia World Congress Center during ATL Comic Con.
Meet The Voice Stars
Grey DeLisle has built a 25-year career in animation and gaming. Born August 24, 1973, she rose to prominence voicing both Azula and the Blue Spirit in Avatar: The Last Airbender, and her credits include Daphne Blake in Scooby-Doo adaptations and Mandy on The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy. DeLisle is also a singer-songwriter, releasing multiple folk and country albums.
Janet Varney first captured audiences as the titular heroine in The Legend of Korra from 2012 to 2014. Beyond animation, Varney co-founded the sketch troupe Victorious and holds improv training from the Upright Citizens Brigade. She hosts the award-winning JV Club Podcast, where she interviews entertainers about mental health, creativity, and life on the road.

Convention Highlights
Fans can attend the “Avatar Animated Universe” panel on Saturday, where DeLisle and Varney will share behind-the-mic stories about long recording sessions, last-minute script rewrites, and character arcs. After the panel, they’ll sign prints, comics, and custom memorabilia at Booth VCC-09. Pre-booked photo-op wristbands are available through the ATL Comic Con app, and autograph queue tickets will be handed out at opening each morning. Exclusive signed artwork and limited-edition enamel pins will also be on sale in the artist alley.
Grey’s Recent Convention Tour
Last month, DeLisle headlined NostalgiaCon Anaheim for a 20-year reunion of her early work. As she posted on Instagram, “One more day left of our 20 year reunion! Come see us all tomorrow at @thenostalgiacon Anaheim!” She also took the stage with her band alongside Tom Kenny’s The Hi Seas and Drake Bell, giving fans a taste of her musical talents in a live set.
Janet Varney’s Community Impact
Varney extends her fan engagement through live podcast recordings. Since launching the JV Club in 2015, she’s tackled topics from self-care to career pivots, often inviting listeners to join live tapings at cons. At ATL Comic Con, she’s expected to host a special on-site JV Club episode featuring surprise guests and audience Q&A.
Why Fans Are Excited
Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra have earned critical acclaim and a devoted global audience—Aang’s saga won an Emmy in 2007, while Korra secured multiple Kids’ Choice Awards. Last year’s Avatar reunion at Comic-Con International in San Diego trended worldwide under #AvatarReunion, generating millions of social media impressions. With DeLisle and Varney arriving in Atlanta, this will be the first major east-coast Avatar event since the Netflix live-action series debuted earlier this year.
