Angelique Cabral couldn’t contain her excitement after experiencing the Broadway adaptation of “Real Women Have Curves,” sharing her emotional response to the production in a heartfelt Instagram post this week.
“I am blown away and will never recover from @rwhcmusical on Broadway,” Cabral wrote, expressing how deeply the performance moved her. “I cried my lashes off!!!!”
The actress, known for her roles in series like “Life in Pieces” and recent appearances on “The Neighborhood,” was particularly impressed by her friend Justina Machado’s performance, declaring that she “absolutely crushed” her role in the production.
In her enthusiastic review, Cabral highlighted the musical’s impressive creative team, including director Sergio Trujillo and music by Joy Huerta (of Jesse & Joy). She also mentioned fellow cast members Florencia Cuenca and Tatianna Sophia.

“Real Women Have Curves” is based on the acclaimed play by Josefina López, which was also adapted into a beloved 2002 film starring America Ferrera. The story follows Ana, a young Mexican-American woman navigating cultural expectations, body image, and her dreams of college while working in her sister’s East Los Angeles sewing factory.
This Broadway outing comes during a busy period for Cabral, who has recently been making waves with her new character Lisa on CBS’s “The Neighborhood.” Last month, she shared her excitement about playing the “impeccably dressed, high energy, unpredictable book agent” character who appears in several episodes at the end of the show’s seventh season.
“Lisa is my dream character,” Cabral wrote in an earlier post, noting that the role is “lots of fun like meeeeee!!!”
