Marking 30 Years Since Breakthrough
Morissette first rocketed to international fame with Jagged Little Pill, released in June 1995. The album, which featured breakthrough singles like “You Oughta Know,” “Ironic” and “Hand in My Pocket,” sold more than 33 million copies worldwide. It won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Best Rock Album, cementing Morissette’s status as one of the defining voices of 1990s alternative rock. Reflecting on her three-decade-old work, she wrote, “30 years. so happy i can stand by everything that was written then.”
Following the unprecedented success of Jagged Little Pill, Morissette continued to evolve her sound. Her 1998 follow-up, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and she went on to release further albums such as Under Rug Swept (2002) and Havoc and Bright Lights (2012). In 2021, she offered fans a more intimate look at her life in the audiobook memoir Jagged, which she narrated herself.
Thanking Fans For ‘ongoing Capturings’
Beyond her music milestones, Morissette celebrated “51 years of ongoing capturings,” a nod to her journey since being born in Ottawa on June 1, 1974. She added, “thank you thank you for coming along with me. here is to at least 51 more. i love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥹,” conveying her appreciation for every chapter—from early songwriting sessions to full-scale arena shows. The phrase “ongoing capturings” appears to embrace all facets of her creativity, whether penning lyrics, recording tracks or capturing moments on stage and online.
Over the years, Morissette has released nine studio albums and ventured into multiple creative fields. She has been recognized for her philanthropic efforts, supporting mental health campaigns and environmental causes. Additionally, the Broadway adaptation of Jagged Little Pill debuted in 2018, earning Tony nominations and introducing her music to new audiences.

While looking back, Morissette is also planning forward. She revealed that her EU and UK tour dates are now live, highlighting a new London show at The O2 on July 27 and a forthcoming Las Vegas residency this fall. “All dates for my EU/UK tour this summer, including my brand new London show at The O2 on 27 July, and my Las Vegas residency that’s coming this fall are both on sale now,” she wrote. “Exciting!
