Actor and voice artist Ahmed Best rang in Father’s Day with a playful, galaxy-far-far-away twist. On June 18, Best shared an Instagram post packed with Star Wars swag and cheeky nods to his time as Jar Jar Binks.
A Sith-ly Surprise
In his caption, Best wrote, “Happy #fathersday to all the #sith #daddys out there. Thank you @disney @starwars and everyone at @ilm and @lucasfilm for the Father’s Day gifts, especially the 2 deodorants (what you trying to say? LOL!).” The post features him holding two Darth Vader–inspired deodorants alongside the unexpected “Darth Daddy” tee he received from Lucasfilm.
Ahsoka’s Clone Wars Shout-out
Best also gave a shout-out to his on-screen sister Ashley Eckstein—voice of Ahsoka Tano in Star Wars: The Clone Wars—thanking her for the custom shirt. He tagged @ashleyeckstein and used hashtags like #clonewars, #ahsoka and #themandalorian to spotlight his deep ties across the franchise.
From Jar Jar To Gamer
Long before this Father’s Day haul, Best became a household name for his performance-capture work as Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Though initially divisive, his role helped pioneer motion-capture acting in major blockbusters. Outside of Star Wars, Best has branched into directing performance capture for video games like South of Midnight and appeared in Disney+’s documentary series Light & Magic.
In fact, on May 4—Star Wars Day—Best posted a tribute to dreamers everywhere: “To everyone who has a dream and keeps dreaming… MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU!” (https://www.instagram.com/p/DJPxdlhTRMU/). That message underscored his ongoing connection with fans.
A Force Of Gratitude
In his Father’s Day post, Best closed by “sending all the love to all the fathers out there,” tagging #kelleranbeq, #jedi and #master to nod at his Kelleran Beq persona in star wars lore. The community reaction was swift, with fans praising his sense of humor and gratitude toward the companies behind his on-set magic.
Ahmed Best’s blend of humor, nostalgia and genuine appreciation made this Father’s Day update strike the right chord with Star Wars devotees and proud parents alike. Whether he’s dodging lightning as a Sith or guiding actors behind the scenes, Best continues to wield his influence with warmth and wit.
