American actress Auli’i Cravalho recently shared a glimpse into her relaxing evening at home with her feline companion Rocco. The star posted a cozy snapshot of her movie night featuring her cat and a documentary about ocean conservation.

In her Instagram post, Cravalho revealed that both she and her cat enjoy a good “dinner and a movie” session. The video shows Cravalho with her black cat Rocco while they watch “Reef Builders,” a documentary about coral reef restoration.

“Coral reefs might feel far away from our everyday lives, but their impact is closer than we think,” Cravalho noted in her caption. She highlighted Sheba’s commitment to responsible sourcing and ocean restoration efforts, adding that “a healthier planet for us means a healthier world for our cats, too.”

The documentary “Reef Builders” provides an in-depth look at one of the world’s largest coral reef restoration programs, Sheba Hope Grows, led by Mars Sustainable Solutions. Cravalho encouraged her followers to watch the documentary on Amazon Prime Video or through the link in her bio.

This isn’t just a casual endorsement for Cravalho. Earlier posts reveal her deep involvement with the Sheba Hope Grows initiative. In a previous Instagram share, she mentioned that being involved with the “Reef Builders” documentary and serving as an associate producer was “an incredibly special experience” for her.

“As a kanaka maoli (Native Hawaiian), I care deeply about our oceans,” Cravalho wrote in her previous post. Her heritage informs her passion for ocean conservation work.

Cravalho also shared behind-the-scenes memories from filming the documentary, including her visit to the Sheba Hope Grows flagship site at Hope Reef in Bontosua, Indonesia. She described how the local community welcomed her with kindness that reminded her of the Hawaiian concept of Aloha.

“Hearing stories of how their hard work is turning a decimated coral-rubble field into a thriving reef inspired hope in us all,” she wrote about the experience.

In another recent post, Cravalho revealed that for every hour of “Reef Builders” streamed in the United States, Amazon would donate $1 to Kuleana Coral toward Hawaiian reef restoration, up to $100,000, through June 29th.

“To support these real life heroes, for every hour of #ReefBuilders streamed in the United States @amazon will donate $1 to @kuleanacoral toward Hawaiian reef restoration,” she shared, encouraging fans to help restoration efforts by watching and sharing the documentary.

Cravalho was born in Kohala, Hawaii, and has Hawaiian, Puerto Rican, Portuguese, Chinese, and Irish ancestry, which may explain her strong connection to ocean conservation causes. While Cravalho has been actively promoting ocean conservation, her recent social media activity indicates that she has been busy with other professional endeavors as well. In March, she played Sally Bowles at the Kit Kat Club, and she recently celebrated the streaming release of “Moana 2” on Disney Plus. The 24-year-old actress, who gained fame as the voice of Moana in Disney’s animated features, continues to balance her acting career with advocacy work.

Cravalho’s commitment to environmental causes shows how celebrities can use their platforms for meaningful advocacy. By connecting her personal interests (spending time with her cat Rocco) to larger environmental issues, she makes conservation feel accessible to her followers. This blend of personal and purposeful content has helped Cravalho maintain a relatable public image while advocating for causes she believes in.

Whether she’s voicing an animated character connected to the ocean or actively working to preserve real marine ecosystems, Cravalho consistently demonstrates her passion for ocean protection.

For those interested in supporting coral reef restoration, “Reef Builders” is currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
