Twin Peaks star Mädchen Amick is stopping to smell the spring greens—or at least appreciate their bloom. The actress recently shared a serene glimpse into her springtime surroundings with a simple yet refreshing post on Instagram.

“tings are a bloomin'” Amick captioned the photo, which features a pleasing spread of greenery sunlit at golden hour, capturing a moment of spring’s renewal.

Twin Peaks Legacy And Ongoing Advocacy

Amick recently celebrated the 35th anniversary of Twin Peaks, which first aired on April 8, 1990. She commemorated the milestone by sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the series, including what she described as “Shelly’s last shot on #TheReturn where David and I were blubbering happy tears.” The actress portrayed the beloved character Shelly Johnson in both the original series and its 2017 revival.

Mädchen Amick began her career as a model before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting. Her breakthrough came with Twin Peaks in 1990, and she has since appeared in numerous television series including Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Witches of East End, and Riverdale.

Yet beyond her on-screen success, Amick has channeled her personal journey into advocacy. Inspired by her family’s firsthand experience with the inadequacies of the mental health care system—particularly after her son’s diagnosis with bipolar disorder—Amick and her family founded the Don’t MiND Me Foundation. The organization is dedicated to ending the stigma around mental illness and providing direct support, with initiatives focused on advocacy, access, and action.

Amick’s commitment to mental health advocacy extends to other partnerships as well. She recently collaborated with the David Lynch Foundation to support Transcendental Meditation programs for California First Responders and LA residents displaced by fires.

As her gardens bloom this spring, so too does Amick’s dedication to mental health awareness and advocacy—proving that her impact extends far beyond her roles on screen.
