Oscar-winner Viola Davis has shared a heartfelt tribute to the stunt team who helped bring her latest action role to life in the Prime Video thriller “G20.” The acclaimed actress took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the professionals who made her performance possible.
In her recent post, Davis wrote: “Loved every minute of it! Special shoutout to my extraordinary stunt double @nicole_daydream and stunt trainer @theicecreamgiant. G20 baby! ❤️” The image accompanying the post appears to show Davis in character from the action-packed film.
Davis’s acknowledgment highlights the often unsung heroes of action filmmaking. Her stunt double Nicole Daydream and trainer (known as @theicecreamgiant on Instagram) were instrumental in helping the 58-year-old actress perform convincingly in what appears to be one of her most physically demanding roles to date.
In “G20,” Davis stars as Taylor Sutton, the President of the United States who must spring into action when terrorists seize control of the G20 Summit. The film represents a significant departure from many of Davis’s previous dramatic roles, placing her squarely in the action hero category.
In a previous Instagram post promoting the film’s release, Davis described the project as “a long road, but oh, so worth it!” She noted that her production company JuVee Productions continues their “mission to bring dynamic storytelling, characters, and actors that reflect the world—and, most importantly, to deliver a film that truly entertains.”
The actress has been actively promoting the film across her social media platforms. Just days ago, she shared another post about G20, calling it “The ride of my life!” which further emphasizes how meaningful this project has been for her.
A behind-the-scenes video shared on her Instagram shows Davis taking her action role seriously, documenting the physical training she underwent for the film. The post, captioned “Viola Davis takes her craft seriously,” offers fans a glimpse into the dedication required for her transformation into an action star.
Beyond her acting work, Davis continues to be active in production through JuVee Productions, which she runs with her husband Julius Tennon. The company focuses on diverse storytelling and has been behind several of Davis’s recent projects.
Recently, Davis has been supporting other creative endeavors as well. She promoted the documentary “Number One on the Call Sheet” streaming on Apple TV, and has been supporting author Tina Lifford’s “The Inner Fitness Revolution” book and event.
Davis and her husband also recently appeared on the popular YouTube series “Hot Ones Versus,” where they faced off against each other while answering personal questions and eating increasingly spicy wings.
“G20” is currently streaming on Prime Video, giving audiences the chance to see Davis in this new action-oriented role that clearly pushed her into new territory as a performer—territory she embraced with the help of her dedicated stunt team.
