Actress and activist Yvette Nicole Brown showed her support for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass by attending the recent State of the City address, sharing her experience with followers on social media, and encouraging civic engagement.

In an Instagram post, Brown expressed her honor at being present for the important civic event, urging her followers to educate themselves about the mayor’s accomplishments and ongoing work to rebuild the city.

“So honored to be in the room for the #StateOfTheCity address from @mayorofla!” Brown wrote in her caption. “Her full speech is available on her Facebook page. Educate yourself about all the good she’s done for our great city and all the ways she’s working to rebuild.”

Born on August 12, 1971, in East Cleveland, Ohio, Brown began her career in commercials and later transitioned to film and television. Beyond acting, she has worked as a voice actress in animated series and video games, including roles in “Elena of Avalor” and “DC Super Hero Girls.”
